As a young, single woman, I enjoyed browsing the sale racks at Macy's and trying on shoes at Steve Madden. These days, it's a rarity if I get an hour or two of uninterrupted time  to myself, let alone some time to shop.  Since my shopping ventures are almost always focused on my kids, my wardrobe is somewhat outdated. When I perused my closet for a dress that would ... Read More »

It's the season of giving, and while I found some incredible deals on Black Friday, I'm still struggling to find gifts for a handful of friends and family members. Â Interestingly enough, my greatest shopping challenges include finding gifts for close friends and family. Â When you've been shopping for the same person for years, it requires a bit of creativity to gift... Read More »

'Tis the season to be shopping, where sales, discounts, coupons, and promotions abound. It's also the season of giving. If you're already shopping this season, why not make those purchases count towards a great cause?

Thanksgiving with my husband's family is a tradition, but with everything that has happened within my own family, we felt it would be best to stick close to home. Before my husband and I knew each other, Black Friday shopping with my mom was a tradition...a staple...a must! Once we started spending Thanksgiving in the Southeast, shopping lost some of it's appeal.Â... It seems like overnight, my children are outgrowing their clothes and shoes. I'm constantly cleaning out their drawers to ensure they're not wearing clothes that don't fit or are not fit to be worn in public. I shop for my kids regularly, both in stores and online. And while I'm not picky when it comes to brand names, I do prefer to purchase outfits from well-k... You might remember that I just posted about how important it is to keep an eye on your favorite stores since some of the best sales happen before Black Friday. Lands' End, one of our favorite retailers for children's clothing, outerwear, and accessories is having their Family + Friends sale. Starting November 10th, you'll save 25% on items site-wide (including Lan... After being out and about this weekend, I've noticed that many stores are starting their holiday sales early in the season. While Black Friday is the biggest shopping day leading up to Christmas, I don't recommend waiting until that time to at least start thinking about what you want to get your friends and family members.
As you may know, Walmart guarantees everyd... Read More »

I am honestly finding it all a bit difficult to believe that the holiday shopping season has begun. The very first time I saw holiday items on display was mid-September, and just this week, Halloween shelves were emptied and replaced with ornaments, lights, gift baskets, and more.
I shop online for a number of reason including convenience, the ability to compare ... Read More »

Want to know if that laptop you've been eying will be on sale this Black Friday? Holding out on your child's wish list in anticipation of the biggest shopping day of the season? I only have a few things on my wish list this year, but one of them is the highly popular iPad 2. And while I don't think it will go on sale, there might be some pretty good incentives a... For the last month, I've been seeing the holiday decor, toys, and gifts trickle into stores. Right after Halloween (even the day after, it seems), stores undergo a serious Christmas transformation to prepare for the almost 2 month shopping season. Wouldn't it be nice to have your entire shopping list completed early in the season so that you can actually enjoy the s... Read More »

Shopping in my 20's as a single, working woman was something I looked forward to. I strived to keep up to date with the latest fashions, and typically reserved some of my paycheck each month to purchase a new pair of shoes or a new wardrobe staple. I could run into our local mall quickly if I knew exactly what I wanted, or leisurely browse and have lunch if I had mo... Read More »

Earlier this year, I was asked to be part of Totsy's Mom Committee, where a group of mompreneurs, bloggers, and social media savvy women share expertise, advice, and trends both on our own sites, social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, and Totsy's blog. I've talked about Totsy numerous times over the past year and the basic premise is that it's an invitati... Pre-K...I can't believe my son started Pre-K this week. While it's definitely going to be an adjustment for all of us, our hope is that this year will ready our son for the discipline of Kindergarten. While there is no homework (yet), we are striving to establish a schedule and work on being on time. We're working on things like learning to write and sitting still... Read More »

A couple of weeks ago, I was helping my son get dressed and noticed one of his shirts was short. I've never been perfect with the laundry, but I was pretty certain I hadn't shrunk anything, particularly because this was a new shirt. Later that week, his teacher commented that she thought he had a growth spurt. Children grow so quickly!
