One of our favorite children's shoe brands is currently on sale for the next three days over on Totsy. My children learned to walk in Stride Rite shoes and I wore them as a child, a testament to the quality and longevity of the company. The premise behind each shoe is understanding how children walk and grow. The result is a line of shoes that are flexible and r... Read More »

When my son was a baby I couldn't wait for him to start walking (and talking, and dancing, and...). I am one of those parents that tend to be a little neurotic when it comes to milestones (after all...I'm a nurse). I've eased up a bit with my daughter, but continuously strive to ensure I'm doing my part to assist my children in accomplishing everything from taking t... Read More »

As a little girl, I remember the yearly back-to-school trips to Stride Rite for their black and white oxfords (I went to a private school and wore uniforms for several years as a child). I have a wide foot and Stride Rite was really the only children's store at the time that offered wide width options for this type of shoe. More than 20 years later, my son and ... Read More »

Spring is almost here and I'm ready for warmer weather and park days. My son is a busy little boy, running and jumping and playing. And because he is so active, he needs a supportive pair of shoes.
Last fall, I introduced you to Umi Shoes. The company makes quality children's shoes, "designed with children's feet in mind." Their shoes are made from the high... Read More »

I remember someone once told me that babies learning to walk, ideally should do so barefoot. Now that works at home...on carpet...without dangers or obstacles. But I also believe babies and tots learning how to walk require sufficient support. Soft, leather shoes are as close to walking barefoot as you can get.
Last year, I introduced you to Pediped Footwear. T... Read More »

Yesterday I wanted to jump up and down and do a little dance. 32 weeks without any major problems and I feel like we're counting down! In 8 weeks (and as few as 6) we will meet our precious baby girl. The little girl I've been dreaming about since I was a little girl. Will she have dark curly hair and big brown eyes like my son? Will she love to sing and rea... Read More »

I think I've saved the best for last! All of the shoes in our back to school series have their own unique attributes and I could see myself purchasing any of the ones I've recommended so far. But just like anything you're in the market for, there is the "creme de la creme," the top-of-the line brands that do an outstanding job of bringing you a high-quality design... Read More »

Why so many shoes? I imagine that might be a question forming as you read the title of this post. Honestly, I've always been a "shoe" girl. My husband is constantly trying to bribe me into getting rid of a pair of shoes...ANY pair would suffice. The problem is, I have shoes for different occasions...and perhaps so do you. But we're talking about children, ri... Read More »

My son is a very active little boy. From the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed, he's a ball of energy. I do most of the shopping for our family and my husband calls me the queen of bargain hunting. But when it comes to shoes for our family, I look for quality first. It's especially important for children to wear the "right" type of shoe. Their feet gro... Read More »

Thirty years ago I learned to walk with Stride Rite shoes that looked very similar to these:
It's been thirty years and Stride Rite still represents a brand that I can trust. I didn't think twice about the brand of shoes I would buy when my son first started walking. When that time arrived, we headed straight to Stride Rite. They've been designing and m... Read More »
