Stylish, Lasting Outerwear from Lands’ End *Giveaway* Published on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 by

While much of the country is beginning to cool down, we’re still warm and sunny here in Southern California (although lately only in the afternoons once the cloud cover has dissipated).  Our winters tend to be mild and temperate, which means most people don’t own heavy rain-wear, down jackets, or snow boots (unless it’s the latest trend).  We are definitely the exception and most of my friends who live in other parts of the country giggle when I tell them I wear closed-toes shoes and light sweaters in the middle of winter.

Last year, we spent about 2 weeks on the East Coast and my son was thankful for the warmth provided by his Lands’ End Parka.  Because we bought it just a bit bigger than his size at the time, it’s lasted him through the winter and he’ll use it again this year (particularly when we travel to the East Coast again).  The parka includes a fleece zip-in jacket which can be worn separately and which is what my son wears most of the year.  The outer nylon shell, which we’ll use when we travel, is what really keeps him warm and dry.

Most well-made coats, are an investment.  But the money is well-worth it because a quality coat should last more than one year (unless you have a child who simply outgrows it). Lands’ End’s offers outerwear for children and adults in a variety of styles to keep you warm, comfortable, and fashion-forward.
