Sweet Talking Ken *Giveaway* Published on Sunday, February 13, 2011 by

I still remember those childhood days of pretend play with Barbie, Ken, and friends.  In fact, my mother still keeps a small collection of my dolls that we will both give my daughter when she’s old enough to play with them.  While much has changed with Barbie and the gang, she still looks very much like she did when I was a child.

Mattel recently introduced Sweet Talking Ken, which features a built-in microphone so children can record and play back a message in Ken’s voice with either a high, low, or normal pitch.  The microphone is built into Ken’s chest and recording a message involves just a simple press of the button.  Ken is stylishly dressed in dark denim with a tee that features The Ultimate Boyfriend in 10 languages.

While the recommended age for the doll is 5 and up, I would reserve Sweet Talking Ken for tweens.  The doll itself is cute but I have to admit that Ken is very much the “pretty boy.”  Sweet Talking Ken retails for $19.99 and is available online and at retailers nationwide.
