A few weeks ago, we visited my in-laws for Thanksgiving.  I always find it interesting when my mother-in-law pulls out toys that my husband and my sister-in-law played with as children.  Sometimes I wonder if toys are made as well as they were when I was a child.

My son and I have been playing with HABA’s Arranging Game Corner to Corner, a collection of 62 German-made beech wood tiles that can be arranged in any number of ways.  My son likes arranging the tiles by color, which I am expanding upon by teaching him to sort and count.  The tiles can be arranged in either a flat or upright pattern and can be made into a house, tower, and more.  I appreciate the suggested designs although I also like seeing what my son can come up with on his own.  For the eco-conscious parent, the tiles are colored with 100% non-toxic water-based stain.
