My life is busy. With two children, a part-time job, and a household, it’s easy to get preoccupied with the busyness of life. But there just isn’t enough goodness in the world. I realized that two weeks ago when a few of us spent a day paying it forward.
1-800-Flowers is on a mission to spread smiles across the nation this summer. The company wants to encourage you to brighten someone’s day with thoughtful gifts and flowers. To provide a bit of inspiration, they’re holding a contest. Now through August 29, 2010, you can submit an entry by writing about that special person who could use a smile. They just might win a Happy Day Bouquet!
I was offered the opportunity to send a bouquet to someone special in my life. I chose my mom and selected the Martha Stewart Sweet Pink Rose and Ivy. As an only child, my mom and I have always been close…she is truly my best friend. She is amazingly supportive, inspirational, kind, and generous. She loves my children like her own, and regularly puts people before her.

I’d love to send a smile to my BFF! We’ve been besties for more than 20 years, even though we have been living thousands of miles apart for the last 10 years or so. She just had a major surgery to remove three tumors (benign, thank God!) and is recuperating. She could really use a smile!
