As a mom to two little ones, I’ve been through my share of baby products.  Safety and durability top the list.  But style and softness are also important.

Both of my children sleep with lovies and stuffed animals.  While my children spend the first part of their life sleeping right next to us, at some point they do move on to their own beds.  Lovies are perfect for making that transition. One of my favorite fabrics for babies and tots is cotton muslin.  It’s soft, lightweight and breathable.

Snuggstuff, a company started by two Australian women, offers soft, breathable lovies in whimsical patterns.  Each Snuggrugg is handmade with natural cotton muslin and surrounded with ribbons of different colors and textures for babies to play with and soothe on. My daughter is teething and likes to chew on anything she can.  I like the fact that the lovies are made from natural fabrics although I’m not certain how the fabrics are dyed. While I do think that $20 is a bit steep for a lovie, I have to consider that they are handmade from a high quality fabric and imported from Australia.
