El Pollo Loco’s Stampede For Steak Published on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 by

We’ve been eating out a lot lately.  What can I say?  We’re in survival mode. I always prefer a home-cooked meal, but I’m still getting a handle on this infant/toddler schedule, so I’m giving myself a tiny break from the kitchen.  El Pollo Loco, a restaurant chain my husband and I have eaten at on numerous occasions, is now offering sirloin steak.  Their new menu items include the following:

Steak Tacos:  Citrus-marinated, flame-grilled Sirloin steak, with cilantro and onion in authentic corn tortillas

Grillmaster Steak Taco:  Citrus-marinated, flame-grilled Sirloin steak layered with melted Jack and Cheddar cheeses and topped with fresh Pico de Gallo and guacamole in an authentic grilled flour tortilla

Sirloin Steak Bowl:  Citrus-marinated, flame-grilled Sirloin steak served with fresh cilantro, onions and Pico de Gallo, atop Spanish rice and pinto beans

Steak & 3-Cheese Quesadilla:  Citrus-marinated, flame-grilled Sirloin steak layered with three melted cheeses – Jack, Cheddar and Cotija – grilled in an authentic flour tortilla and served with guacamole and sour cream

To celebrate the launch of El Pollo Loco’s new Sirloin Steak-themed menu items, the company will host a Stampede for Steak tomorrow (January 20th) at their Sunset and Serrano location (5319-51 Sunset Blvd. at Serrano).  If you show up dressed in cowboy-themed attire, you’ll get a free Flame-Grilled Sirloin Steak Taco.  If you can’t attend, tweet, post on Facebook, or email a picture of yourselves in your cowboy attire to be entered to win $250 in El Pollo Loco gift vouchers.

Head on over to their site to print off a Buy One Get One Free coupon for a steak taco.

I did not receive compensation for this post.  I did receive coupons, courtesy of the company.
