It’s All Fun and Games *Giveaway*

October 17, 2009 by Caryn

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winner is Cher.  Congrats!

Since you know how much we love games here, I have another fun one to tell you about!  Games are a great way to get adults and children to converse and interact.  Many also inspire learning and creative thinking. The games I find to be the most fun are those with a bit of challenge (but not too difficult because I like to win!  Hehe!).

rumminoMy husband and I recently had an opportunity to try out Rummino! The game is offered by a company called Marina Games, a family business committed to a fun and creative approach to games.  Rummino! combines Rummy (which I had never played before) with the strategy of word tile games.  My hubby had to teach me a thing or two about Rummy before I actually “got” the game (but it’s not difficult).  Each player receives seven tiles, and then “plays them” to score points.  The tiles are played in runs (same color/suit) or sets (same tiles, different suits) and the goal is to score the highest number of points.

The game is fun, challenging, and won’t get tiresome or boring. It’s relatively easy to learn yet provides enough challenge for my husabnd and I got get a bit competitive.  I like the weaving of a traditional card game that people know and love with a tile game.  There is a familiar yet fresh feel to this game that I really appreciate.

Rummino! is designed for older children and adults over the age of eight and retails for $19.99.  It also comes with a tile bag which makes it great for toting on holiday!

Win It! One of you will win Rummino! Simply leave me a comment with another game you’d like to play from the site.  Comments will close on October 31, 2009 at 10 PM PST.  One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn.
