Outdoor Fun With Crayola *Giveaway*

October 9, 2009 by Caryn

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks for stopping by.  The winners are Ann F and LT.  Congrats!

Children want and need to be outside, soaking in the sights, sounds, and smells of nature.  Along with the physical activity children require, they also need creative stimulation.  My husband and I try to encourage both in our home (my husband’s been the more active one with my son lately).

crayola-logoIf you’re a parent, then you probably have something with the name Crayola on it.  I know we have everything from crayons and markers to toddler toys.  What’s great about Crayola is that they don’t just sell products.  They offer ways to use their products to help make the most out of your child’s creative experience.  The site is packed with coloring pages, craft ideas, games, tips, and more.

We had an opportunity to check out Crayola’s 3-D Giant Chalk Set, Window Crayons, and Washable Sidewalk Crayons, courtesy of the company.  The 3-D Giant Chalk Set is really neat, but a bit too young for my son. He LOVES using the chalk on his Art Easel.  The chalk is HUGE, but he’s still able to draw and color with it.  The chalk is double-sided and includes two different colors.  Once your child has drawn their picture, they put on the glasses and watch their creation come to life.  The chalk set comes with two sets of glasses and a how-to book which includes tons of ideas for using the product with your child.  Retails for $11.99.

And if you’re looking for something a little less “chalky” that a toddler can use, check out the Washable Sidewalk Crayons.  I like the way they color (nice and smooth and vibrant) and they’re a little easier for smaller tots to manage since they’re not as big as the chalk.  Retails for $6.99.

Halloween is in just a few weeks, and decorating with Window Crayons is a fun, economic way to get your child involved in getting your home festive for the season.  They go on smooth and wash off easily.  Plus…they’re not messy!  They come in a pack of five and retail for $4.99.

I love Crayola’s site and have had them linked on my blog for months. A while back there were tons of crayola giveaways that I entered for my son and never won..Thanks for giving us all another chance.

A 3-D giant ring toss on the sidewalk would be fun to do with my son.
