In my house, the three-second rule doesn’t usually apply. Being a NICU nurse, we throw away everything that comes in contact with the floor, even if it’s just for a second. Being that this is ingrained within me, I don’t make it a habit of eating or giving my son food that’s fallen on the floor. It’s not that my floors aren’t clean. In fact, because of the type of tile we have in the kitchen, the floor needs to be cleaned at least every other day, if not every day. I just don’t feel like my floors are sanitized (you definitely couldn’t eat off of them). Putting chemicals on the floor is the logical solution…right? Wrong!
I recently tried out Reliable Corporation’s Steamboy Steam Floor Mop. This is going to change the way you mop your floors. Rather than harsh chemicals that could potentially affect your health (and that of our precious environment) adversely, steam is used to rid your floors of bacteria. Here is a little demonstration of the Steamboy Steam Floor Mop:
Honestly, the more I use this, the better my floors look. While it’s super easy to use, it takes just a little getting used to before you can perfect the art of steam-cleaning your floors. Here is a little more information about the Steamboy Floor Mop from the site:

The very first time I used the Steamboy on my floors, I looked at the pad and was disgusted. I seriously thought I that my routine mopping (which is about every other day) was keeping my floors clean and germ-free. I was so wrong. I must have been pushing all of the dirt and dust around with my conventional mop, because the pad was filthy.
If you watched my video, then you were able to see how easy it is to set up and use. Once you fill the chamber with water and plug the Steamboy in, you can start steam-cleaning your floors immediately. And…you can visually see the steam coming up from the floor where you’ve used it. The mop is lightweight and has a swivel head which allows you to get into hard-to-reach corners where microbes love to hang out. You can use the mop on any type of floor and it comes with an attachment for carpet cleaning. The microfiber pads are hand and machine–washable. I recommend several since you’ll definitely use them. I love that I can mop the floor, wait for it to cool and dry, and not worry that I am exposing my son to harmful chemicals. I also appreciate the fact that I the product cleans without harming the environment.

I checked out their site and it seems like a lot of industrial type products. I do like that the mop comes with two pads to get started, but I’d probably need to buy more as I can only imagine how disgusting my floors would be.

I have Brazillian Cherrywood floors and I can’t seen to find anything that will clean them that doesn’t have chemicals. This would be the perfect solution for me.

I would love the steam mop!! With 2 doggies it’s awfully hard to keep the floor clean and you always wonder just how really clean are you getting it.I like the replaceable water filter on the steam mop that changes colors and lets you know when it needs to be changed.

The site says “Whether floors are tiled, sealed hardwood, carpeted or ceramic, the Steamboy is powerful enough for any job.” LI klnow you said “any type floors” in your write-up, but this is reallyany type floors! Including carpet! That’s great! I like the pointed base (or whatever you call it) that can fit into corners. The site says it also can get under furniture and into small places. That sounds great! I think that steam is really what my kitchen floor needs. I sure hope i win this!

I’d like to have the G4 Fabric Steamer.
You don’t know how long I’ve wanted a Steamboy! One feature of the Steamboy is that it comes with one extra (replaceable) water filter, which ensures that the internal parts of the steam mop stay clean. When the filter changes color (approx. 6 months of regular use) you simply slide it out and replace it with the new filter. You can purchase additional water filters online. I love that you can steam clean all of your hard surfaces (and carpeted areas) without using chemicals or soaps, and, you kjnow that the steam is killing any bacteria. Oh, I wish I had one:)

Our 180º swivel-head allows you to get into tight corners with ease. Without this feature, it is impossible to get into the crevices where dirt and germs lurk.
The steam mop has a 180º Swivel-head which will allow you to get into corners and crevices instead of things collecting in those spaces. I think that is a great feature.

This steamboy looks great! First, it does carpeting which we have alot of, and you don’t have to wait, fhe steam begins right away and lasts for 30 minutes which is enough time to do 2 floors! Fantastic!

I’ve been dying to get one of these. I have tons of tile and five cats in my place, and am looking for an easy way to clean the floors. I learned that the Steamboy cleans tile, sealed hardwood, carpet and ceramic, which is great! I didn’t know if worked on carpet. Also that it has an 180 degree swivel head to easily get under furniture.

Not only can they make children sick but pets too~! I was using a swiffer until I read about it making animals sick. If it made them sick how safe could it be for children!!! I would love, love, love any of the sewing machines. My old sewing machine doesn’t work and I love to TRY to sew!

I’m so excited about this product! I have been shopping around for a steam mop for a while now. I’d love to try out the Digital Velocity V95 Steam Iron too!
We’ve got linoleum and a big dog…do the math! Would like to try the G4 fabric steamer also.
One important feature that I had to review is the different types of floors this product could be used on:
1. Ceramic/tile
2. Sealed hardwood
3. Carpet
That’s 3-for-3 in our household!

I like how it can get the corners that your regular mop cannot get.
My husband would enjoy using the Iron Maven to press all of his work clothes. It would probably cut his ironing time in half too.

With four kids in my house, my floors take a beating and need constant cleaning. I would love this product as we got tile floors last year and even though I wash them several times each week, they never look sparkling clean (due to the grout). I learned that you don’t have to wait for the steam to build or heat up. You can use the product instantly which saves time in my busy day-to-day cleaning. I know you did touch on this, but the fact that you can achieve a “pristine floor through the chemical-free power of steam” is wonderful. With a 4 month old baby rolling around on my floors, I don’t want them laden with cleaning solvents or solutions, especially since she is at an age where she wants to suck on everything! This is the ideal solution!
