Vaseline Clinical Therapy Giveaway
January 8, 2009 by Caryn
This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Martha H. Congratulations!
I wash my hands. Alot. The fact that I’m a mom AND a nurse (a neonatal intensive care nurse at that) results in frequent hand-washing that renders my hands red, raw, and sore. Now that winter is upon us (as temperate as our Southern California winters can be) I am finding that my hands are completely moisture-depleted.
Vaseline, the creators of, well, Vaseline (hehe) have developed an innovative, prescription-strength lotion called Clinical Therapy, that is revolutionizing skin care. Unlike other lotions, Clinical Therapy works to heal dry skin and relieve itching. It provides 60% more moisture than prescription lotions which is amazing to me considering it does not require a prescription. Clinical Therapy is hypoallergenic which is great for my very sensitive, break-out prone skin. I first started using it after I had worked two 12-hour shifts back to back. After practically washing the skin off of my hands, I came home as always do, with dry, sore hands. I figured that since this is a “prescription-strength” lotion, it would leave a “prescription-strength” layer of grease on my hands. Fortunately, I was still able to check my email without my hands slipping off the keyboard! In all seriousness, as soon as I rubbed it in, I felt some relief from the soreness and my hands over the next few days became softer. Now, I have to admit that while I like using this lotion, I have to keep using it because of how aggressively I am required to wash my hands at work. Alcohol-based antibacterial gels and soaps are not the nicest products to use on skin which means I need a pretty impressive lotion (like this one) to make any real difference. I usually have a few days off in between my shifts and I’ve found that using Clinical Therapy heals my hands, even in that short amount of time.
Clinical Therapy is available in an unfragranced and lightly fragranced varieties (I really like the fragranced version) and retails for approximately $7.00. You can obtain a coupon for $1.00 off directly on the site. And while you’re on the site, be sure to check out their Prescribe the Nation Sweepstakes, where you can win an 8-day Alaska adventure for four. An additional five will win 2 $100 Spafinders gift certificates ever week! The first 45,000 to enter will receive two free samples of Vaseline Clinical Therapy lotion to share with someone they love.
I’m going to leave you with the story behind Vaseline Clinical Therapy including one of my favorite videos from the site.
It started in Kodiak; one of Alaska’s many small towns, with a population of 6,000. Due to the location, Kodiak endures an extremely icy climate leaving many of its residents with dull, dry and cracking skin. This very reason is why Vaseline thought the demographic would be perfect to demonstrate the effectiveness of Clinical Therapy Lotion.
Vaseline turned to Petal Ruch, a voice coach and 50-year-old mother of four, who tried the product and felt it really worked, to start a word-of-mouth campaign for new Vaseline Clinical Therapy Lotion. If she liked it, she could then freely “prescribe” it to anyone else she thought needed it. Through word-of-mouth, her experience spread to more than 600 townspeople—including 39 cousins, a Russian music group, a knife maker, police detective, owners of fishing vessels, and many others– whom also discovered that Clinical Therapy works.
Win It! The company has generously donated two bottles of Clinical Therapy to giveaway. Just leave me a comment indicating why you want to try the lotion and who you would prescribe it to. Do you have a specific skin care problem that this lotion may help? Comments will close on January 23, 2008 at 10 pm PST. One comment per person, please. US residents only.
