Green Me: A Shout Out to Paper Shouts (Plus a Giveaway!)
October 22, 2008 by Caryn
*Update*
This giveaway is now closed. Thank you so much for stopping by. The winner is Casey H. Congratulations!
Nothing replaces the timeless tradition of a handwritten note on elegant stationery. One of my hobbies BC (before children) was collecting beautifully designed stationery from all over the world. While content is important, design is an expression of style and personality. Paper Shouts is a chic stationery company with a flair for the unique. From vintage to modern and everything in between, Paper Shouts offers fabulous invitations and announcements for any occasion.
The company is committed to protecting the environment and prints all of their stationery on 100% recycled, high-quality uncoated paper (although you’d never know it!). They are also donating a percentage of their proceeds from holiday cards to Our City Forest (OFC), an organization created to cultivate a greener, healthier urban environment and a renewed sense of community through planting and care of the urban forest.
Many of the designs allow you to personalize the invite or announcement with a photo. Take a look at some of favorite designs:

My green tip is to use Clorox Green Works cleaners. We just recently got the dish soap, replacing our other stuff, and we’re REALLY liking the smell and the cleaning work of it!
(Also, your twitter link does not work or I would follow you. Email me when you fix the link so I can find you!)
A green tip: well we’ve just replaced more outside lights with “green” light bulbs! We always go grocery shopping with reusable bags!
Thanks for the great giveaway!
reusue boxes and packing you get and ship out
I’d be thrilled to win! Thanks for the chance!
We like to use cloth to wrap presents, then it can be easily reused in crafts
And I use a lot of vinegar to clean! LOL..i’ve learned 101 ways to use vinegar!
My tip might be something that is already well-known, but it was a godsend to me when I learned it. Here goes:
Everyone knows that equal parts warm water and vinegar make a fantastic glass cleaner, but if you’ve used commercial cleaners, you’ll end up with streaks on your glass. UNLESS you put one tiny squirt of dish soap in with the water for the first couple of cleanings. After that, the soap is no longer required. I’ve had the best results with using a clean rag soaked in the vinegar solution to wash the window, then buff it clean with newspaper and elbow grease!
I love using my canvas tote bags for EVERY store I shop!!
My favorite green tip: Recycle, recycle, recycle. I even introduced recycling to my large corporation. They were very hesitant at first but they were quick to catch on. It makes me feel as though I am doing my part. THANKS!
I blogged you!
Green tip: don’t buy kitchen paper towels or paper napkins, use washable towels & cloth napkins instead. Not just ecological – also economical!
Favorite tip: worm composting- it doesn’t smell, uses all your kitchen scraps, makes amazing compost, and kids love helping out!
Green tip – reuse whatever is around the house when possible. For example, my daughter made her entire halloween costume with an old teddy bear (cut the legs off for “paws” and t-shirts, teddy bear ears for her ears, etc) and actually won 50.00 in a costume contest!

We use canvas bags to shop, recycle, and I make every attempt to use paper and other products that have been recycled when possible.

We use our own homemade napkins that I made out of an old dress! We hang our clothes out on the line to dry!
My favorite green thing that I’m doing this year is taking the paper packaging from our weekly CSA produce box and I’m potato stamping it and making holiday wrapping paper out of it. Reuse and then recycle!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Favorite green tip- reuse shopping bags and use clorox green cleaning products!
Our green tip is to recycle….we recycle as much as we can (amongst other green things we do) and I really feel like my family is helping.
Fantastic giveaway!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Green Tip: use cloth napkins instead of paper towels.

My green tip is to make your own cleaners. I use vinegar and water on my hard wood floors and it works wonders. No build up either! I also mix vinegar, and baking soda for a scouring paste in the shower. Much easier on our septic system!
We are using reusable shopping bags and switching to green cleaners (method)
Thanks for such a fun giveaway!

Sorry about that!
My husband, 2 yr old, 4 yr old and I walk or bike absolutely everywhere… to get groceries, to appointments, to school — rain or shine.
my best green tip is recycle heavily and use reusable bags. also make your own cleaners
REPLACE light bulbs! It can save so much energy
My tip is to fill your gas tank when it’s only half–or even a quarter–empty. I don’t know why, but it really increases your mileage.

I have started making cleaners and such with vinegar instead of buying them!
THANKS for the chance!
My fave green tip is to not use any kind of paper you can live without. We don’t use paper napkins, paper towels, paper bags, or paper diapers. All cloth, all reusable.
Angie
My favorite green tip is to line dry clothes as much as possible instead of using the dryer.
Thanks!
Also I recycle all bottles and cans even if it is not convienient!
As for a green tip: I use cloth napkins to cute down on paper waste. Thanks for the giveaway!

Green tip: Run the dishwasher or washing maching at night when the least amount of energy is being used by the rest of the nation (that’s what they tell you to do if they think there’s going to be a blackout!)
We use reuseable bags when shopping and we recycle
My green tip: Wash clothes in cold water if you can and use fluorescant light bulbs.

As for a green tip, try to patronize companies such as Paper Shouts that use recycled paper. And, of course, recycle everything you possibly can!
Green tip: get rid of those paper goods! We use cloth napkins, cleaning rags, and reusable dinnerware and lunch box containers. As long as you only run full dishwasher or washing machine loads, reusables will always beat disposables.
Green tip: Use Baking Soda for cleaning instead of cleanser.
Thank you!

I use my own cloth bags when shopping. I also recycle as much as possible.
Thanks
My green tip is use a “green” re-useable water bottle and eliminate buying bottled water.
Natural cleansers like vinegar and baking soda do a great job without harming the planet. I use reusable grocery bags, recycle and compost and try to conserve gas by driving much less.
Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!
