What do you think?
Yo…Kids! Published on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 by

Now that my son is eating solid foods, I actually struggle more with what to feed him.  It was so easy to just open up a container of baby food, warm it up, and give it to him.  Mindless, I know!  One of the things my son loves is yogurt.  Yogurt has so many nutritional benefits including calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones, Vitamin A for healthy eyes, protein for strong muscles, and live, active cultures to aid in digestion. Up until this past week I’ve only given him plain, organic whole milk yogurt with some sort of organic pureed fruit because I don’t want to give him a lot of sugar.  Thanks to Yoplait and Family Review Network, we sampled Yoplait Kids Strawberry Banana Yogurt Drink.  Whenever we give our son something to eat, we usually try it first.  My very first impression was that it was nowhere near as sweet as I expected it to be.  It was actually really yummy.  Of course our little boy is in that phase where he wants everything that mommy and daddy have so we let him try it.  After, of course, he pointed to Blue and told us in his little way that he recognized Blue from Blues Clues.  He drank the entire container so I think that’s a sign that he likes it!

Yoplait Kids has an entire line dedicated to toddlers.  They have fun, fruity flavors and a smooth texture.  At only 70 calories and 10 grams of sugar the yogurt drinks are low in fat and sugar (25% less than other comparable brands).  One of the things I really like is the added Omega-3 DHA Algal Oil which supports healthy brain development.  Two things I’d love to see Yoplait do is 1.  Come out with an organic version and 2.  Introduce a whole milk yogurt for younger toddlers.

Right now you can download a coupon for $1.50 off which is a great deal since I purchased the yogurt drinks for about $3.39.  Find it in your refrigerated section of your favorite grocery store.

Profuse thanks to Yoplait and the Family Review Network for this review opportunity.
