What Are You Doing This Week? Published on Monday, July 28, 2008 by

*Update*

This giveaway is now closed.  Thank you so much for stopping by and entering.  The winners are Kathleen McKee (#42), Jacqueline in Atlanta (#60), Audrey Okaneko (#39), and Tammy Darling (#52).  Congratulations!  Look for an email from me today!

I remember going to the local carnival as a child.  From music and entertainment to food and fellowship, I couldn’t wait until summer rolled around.  This week I’m attending a different kind of carnival.  Every quarter Bloggy Giveaways hosts a carnival where hundreds of participants hold giveaways all across the blogosphere.  You definitely want to head over as soon as possible to check it out.  I’ve met some wonderful bloggers this way.  Come back here later this week as I have some very cool things to give away including something to keep your home safe while you’re away.

Cocoa Puffs is changing it up by adding a new twist to everyone’s favorite chocolate cereal.  Introducing Cocoa Puffs Combos cereal, which combines great-tasting chocolatey puffs with vanilla puffs.  Cocoa Puffs Combos is made with whole grains and is a good source of Calcium and Vitamin D.

Win It!  Want to be one of the first to try it out?  Four readers will receive a coupon for one full-sized box of Cocoa Puffs Combos.  Leave a comment below telling me your child’s favorite culinary treat.  I need some ideas for my son!   Comments will close on August 3, 2008 at 10 pm PST and I will announce the winner here the following day. One comment per person, please.  US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner. Please note that winners must respond within 48 hours of being announced/contacted or another winner will be drawn

P.S.  You may want to consider coming back VERY soon.  I have several fun giveaways lined up you don’t want to miss out on, including some BlogHer swag!

BTW…You still have an opportunity to enter to win a GameStop Gift Card and an Oh Snap T for your trendy tot!

My children all eat a different breakfast except when my husband make pancakes. Which is a family favorite.
My 4 year old will love this new cereal and if I win…I’ll love the price!

  • by Beth July 29, 2008 at 4:56 am

Don’t know if I would call it “culinary treat” but my son loves frozen chicken nuggets…. Thanks for the chance!

  • by Carol July 29, 2008 at 11:38 am

My son loves chicken fingers dipped in honey.

Thanks for the nice giveaway. cdziuba@aol.com

My kids love when I make snack mix. I take all the odd and end crackers, chips, etc and place them in a plastic container. I add a little garlic powder and shake it up. It’s cheapier than store bought and a great way to use up leftover snacks.

I also make breakfast bars. Follow the Rice Krispie treat recipe but substitute any odd bits of cereal for the rice krispies.

  • by Beth July 29, 2008 at 1:13 pm

My son loves animal crackers! Great giveaway idea, thanks for the chance to enter!

  • by Angela Palmer July 29, 2008 at 4:15 pm

My kids are on a smoothie binge right now. Strawberries and banana are their fave.

  • by Patti July 29, 2008 at 5:51 pm

My kids love edamame with kosher salt on it. Kind of boring, but they love making the soy beans pop out and then eating them!

  • by Betsy July 29, 2008 at 6:38 pm

    Ice Cream!

  • by Annabelle@Christian Momma July 29, 2008 at 6:53 pm

My children love hotdogs wrapped in crescent rolls! Oh and another good treat is those little smoked sausages wrapped in crescent rolls (you would make 3 triangles out of 1 triangle for and use 1 of the small triangle for each little smoked sausage)

  • by Go Amie July 29, 2008 at 7:29 pm

Put unexpected fruits in breakfast cereals. Grapes, kiwis, apricot bits, etc. Kids aren’t used to the combination, so it tastes new, but it is still familiar enough (fruit + cereal) that they don’t reject it. Thanks!

  • by Kristine July 29, 2008 at 7:29 pm

I’m spending time entering giveaways! Thanks for this one.

  • by Cheryl W July 29, 2008 at 8:17 pm

My daughter is picky. But she loves salad, so I try to make different ones for her. I will sneak fruit in the salad and she will eat it, but won’t eat the fruit by itself. Good luck!

My kids love my homemade popsicles. My husband and I like to joke around that the dessert is actually the healthiest part of the meal at our house. They also really like edamame, soy beans in the pod, because they’re fun to eat. And very healthy.

  • by Amber S. July 30, 2008 at 12:12 am

My kids love any kind of pasta dish. Lasagna and Homemade Mac n Cheese are their favorites. Snack wise, they love baby carrots (or carrot sticks) dipped in low fat Ranch dressing.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

Cheesecake. Or ice cream. Or chips. Maybe candy. If it isn’t healthy, they like it!

  • by Michelle July 29, 2008 at 5:58 pm

I think both of my kids would say pizza is their favourite culinary treat.

  • by sara l. July 30, 2008 at 1:09 am

My little man LOVES noodles! Just about any way you make them…He’s really diggin’ homemade mac and cheese lately! Thanks for the chance to win some yummy cereal….We’re CUCKOO for Cocoa Puffs!LOL!

  • by Debra Ford July 30, 2008 at 1:55 am

My son’s latest favorite – instead of using bread crumbs for chicken cutlets, I crushed up Doritos. He just about flipped and asks for it all the time. Even with the chips, it’s got to be healthier than processed frozen chicken nuggets.

    Thanks for the giveaway

  • by Bailey's Leaf July 30, 2008 at 2:24 am

My daughter likes to make herself peanut butter roll up sandwiches on tortillas. Clean up isn’t too bad (she’s 4 and fairly proficient with a butter knife and PB). She loves those with a side of short cut carrots (straight up. I offer no dip, since she’ll eat without!)

    Good luck and thank you!

  • by diane d July 30, 2008 at 2:31 am

Both my boys love taco night. They love to make up their own. Thanks for such a great giveaway! :)

  • by judy brittle July 30, 2008 at 10:36 am

Ice cream anytime anywhere. Doesn’t even matter what flavor.

  • by Dawn July 30, 2008 at 11:11 am

Without a doubt, my oldest’s favorite is mac & cheese. I try to perk it up some by adding veggies into it, though he doesn’t care much for it (he’s 11 though – so he knows he needs to eat it!)

My daughter loves anything that’s been coated in sugar.

My youngest – he LOVES carrots & pasta. So I make some finger-food kind of pasta for him, and then add in a can of veg-all :)

I hope you’ll also stop by my blog – I’ve got several giveaways for you to enter, too!

Thank you for a yummy giveaway.

One of my boys is crazy about fruit, any way, any how. He’s thrilled when I bring home a kiwi from the grocery store. Raspberries are a big hit, too. My other son is crazy for chocolate zucchni bread, and if there’s none of that, then anything chocolate I’ll let him eat :)

  • by Audrey Okaneko July 31, 2008 at 2:02 am

My kids are grown but my daughter babysits a boy who will only eat dinosaur chicken nuggets. He will not eat any other kind LOL

  • by Ma Val July 31, 2008 at 2:16 am

My girl is currently obsessed with ham sandwiches. It’s honestly the weirdest thing. She gets up, has some waffles, decides she’s still hungry and makes a ham sandwich. Then she wants one for dinner later. I don’t get it!

She would love to try this cereal though. I always pick Cheerios for her and she’s wanting to test out something much more kid friendly.

    Thanks for the yummy giveaway!

  • by danandmarsh July 31, 2008 at 2:58 am
