Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka as Dr. Seuss, has been iconic in transforming children's literature. The fact that only 50 words exist in Green Eggs and Ham demonstrates his brilliance. We introduced my three year old son to the books last year and he finds them silly and enjoyable. I know that beyond the fact that they're entertaining, his books are helping my son lear... This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to our winner, Kathleen W.
I remember reading Dr. Seuss' series of books with my mom as a child (as probably most of you do too). Today I still read those same books to my children. There is something about Dr. Seuss' repetitive rhyming style that is catchy and attractive to young children. If you can believe it, it's bee... Read More »

My husband and I grew up in two very different homes 2,000 miles away from each other. Naturally, we've had to decide which traditions to keep and which to part with. We've also created some of our very own, unique traditions.
I love this time of year...the sights...the sounds... So much has changed since that time when I still believed in Santa. Technology h... Read More »

My husband's techie side has officially rubbed off on me! This year, I've managed to purchase a DSLR, a Blu-ray player, as well as add to my collection of video games. I also have my eye on a certain tablet computer. Because we travel so much, it makes sense to use air and drive time to catch up on reading.
While I'm super late jumping on the e-reading train,... Read More »

Every Sunday, before church, my parents and I would read the Sunday paper...together...as a family (odd isn't it?). I would pull the comics and pass the time until we had breakfast and then got ready for church.
If you enjoy comics, do check out The Lunar Antics Presents: Boy, I'd Hate to Be Made Out of That Stuff. The book is a collection of newspaper-style ca... Read More »

At almost 3 years old, my son has outgrown many of the shows targeted towards preschoolers. But he still enjoys Sesame Street, Dinosaur Train, and Sid the Science Kid. We've had several opportunities to visit the Jim Henson Company in Los Angeles and my son has even had an opportunity to meet Sid himself.
Sid is helping kids get off the couch and on their feet with... Read More »

Last week, I picked my son up from preschool and his teacher asked me when we visited New York City. I just looked at her puzzled. Apparently my son was talking about riding in a taxi in New York City. And then it dawned on me...he was talking about the book we've been reading.
Earlier this year, Look Out World, Here I Come launched it's first product, the Ne... Read More »

When I want to relax, I bake. I started baking with my mom when I was a child and it's been a hobby of mine for many years. I'm definitely not Martha Stewart but I enjoy baking everything from cakes and pies to breads and scones from scratch.
A couple of weeks ago, I had an opportunity to particip... Read More »

For some kids, starting school, or returing to school after a summer long vacation can cause anxiety. We put our little boy in preschool this summer for the very first time and he's had a very positive experience so far. We did prepare him in advance before sending him to school. Reading books about school was just one of the ways we prepared him and how we cont... Read More »
