I think it should be required that each and every mom get an assigned day week afternoon to simply relax in whichever way we choose. Some women find sitting in a coffee shop with a book in hand incredibly therapeutic. Others run, meditate, or do yoga. I find bliss at the spa.
Earlier this year, I spent an evening at The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego.... Read More »

She had the kind of birthing experience most women desire...peaceful...intimate..."natural." Every time I read Stephanie's birth story, my eyes well up with tears...tears of joy. Her story is beautiful and poignant and a reminder of how life should begin.
As an RN, I know that there has been a shift towards the medicalization of childbirth. And while there are ... Read More »

After being out and about this weekend, I've noticed that many stores are starting their holiday sales early in the season. While Black Friday is the biggest shopping day leading up to Christmas, I don't recommend waiting until that time to at least start thinking about what you want to get your friends and family members.
As you may know, Walmart guarantees everyd... Read More »

I am honestly finding it all a bit difficult to believe that the holiday shopping season has begun. The very first time I saw holiday items on display was mid-September, and just this week, Halloween shelves were emptied and replaced with ornaments, lights, gift baskets, and more.
I shop online for a number of reason including convenience, the ability to compare ... Read More »

Want to know if that laptop you've been eying will be on sale this Black Friday? Holding out on your child's wish list in anticipation of the biggest shopping day of the season? I only have a few things on my wish list this year, but one of them is the highly popular iPad 2. And while I don't think it will go on sale, there might be some pretty good incentives a... It seems relatively easy. Sort. Wash. Dry. Fold. Put Away. Does that sound like your laundry regimen? There are weeks when there is so much laundry, I go into auto-pilot just to get it all done. Like this week when my husband came home from weeks of traveling and I had 6 loads to do in one day. Talk about giving my washer and dryer a workout!

A favorite among preschoolers like my son, Max and Ruby celebrates sibling relationships. Based on the books created by children's author/illustrator Rosemary Wells, each episode showcases different stories about Max and his big sister Ruby, who just happen to be bunnies.
This Fall, the sibling duo are going on a nationwide tour with a stop in Long Beach at the T... Read More »

Each year, my husband and I rotate where we spend the holidays. Because my extended family is more spread out, our holiday celebrations are intimate and we aren't a stickler when it comes to tradition. On the contrary, my husband's extended family is generally located in the same part of the country and their celebrations are always large with an emphasis on uphol... Read More »

For the last month, I've been seeing the holiday decor, toys, and gifts trickle into stores. Right after Halloween (even the day after, it seems), stores undergo a serious Christmas transformation to prepare for the almost 2 month shopping season. Wouldn't it be nice to have your entire shopping list completed early in the season so that you can actually enjoy the s... Read More »
