When I go to the spa, I typically opt for a massage. My ultimate goal is relaxation, and massage is very therapeutic helping to ease stress-related muscle tension. But one of the treatments I don't get often enough is a facial. I enjoy getting massages and strive to get them at least every few months, but I need regular facials. My skin, while definitely healthi... Read More »

If you've followed our food allergy journey, you might have picked up on the fact that probiotics have been an integral part of my son's management plan. Because my son's food allergies primarily manifest in GI and Skin reactions, our Pediatrician recommended we start him on probiotics long ago when he was first being worked up. I'm less than ten pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight (as in before my 4 year old son was born) and while I'm so proud to have gotten this far, I've definitely hit a plateau. And, of course, my body does not resemble it's former 20-something self. I'm not always as consistent with my workout schedule and while I wor... Read More »

A little over a week ago, I went on a little mission. Being that it's flu season, I offered to give 3 families Walgreens gift cards for flu vaccines, courtesy of Walgreens and The Motherhood. All three families have young children, a population at risk for getting the flu. The families were extremely appreciative and it felt good to give them something so importan... Read More »

As a mom, I often neglect to take care of myself like I did when I was young and single. Most days I fail to get 8 hours of sleep and I'm lucky if I get in a shower before noon. Prior to this weekend, I hadn't received a manicure or pedicure since I was pregnant with my daughter. I've had the occasional facial and massage, but nothing consistent.
I have heard... Read More »

You wouldn't know it by looking at me, but I used to love running and was in pretty decent shape before I got pregnant with my son thanks to 8 months abroad. Whether it's intentional or not, backpacking trims and slims like no other workout!
I don't often blog about fitness because I feel like I should set an example if I'm going to pretend to be an expert impart... Read More »
