Ok...so we have an iPod and we download music on iTunes...I want an iPhone and I'd love to upgrade my iPod to an iTouch. When I was a child, I had no idea what all of these techie gadgets were all about. In fact, I don't even remember playing with anything that required more than just a few batteries. These days, children are extremely tech-savvy (probably more ... Fun Fun Fun! That's the only way to describe Play-Doh's Spaghetti Factory. My son LOVES pretend play and he literally wants to pull this set out on a daily basis. I'm constantly looking for indoor activities we can do together since I'm getting further and further along in the pregnancy and more and more tired. Play-Doh is a fun way for children to use a varie... Yesterday our car read 100 degrees (yes...middle of October and it's still HOT!). I know many of you in other parts of the country have experienced cool weather, but that is the joy (ahem!) of living in Southern California. How do we spend lazy fall days? Getting wet!

I receive a lot of press releases. If you're a blogger, then you know what I mean. Most of the time, I politely decline, saying it's not relevant to my readers. Because, to be honest, I spend time weeding through the information I receive, to bring you the best, most appropriate content. I want you, the reader, to know what to expect when you come to my blog.Â... My two year old son has suddenly become an imaginative little boy. He loves talking to his bear, making up words to songs he's learned, racing and talking to his cars, and cooking up meals in his Step2 Kitchen. My favorite toys are those that are both educational and inspirational...toys that encourage my son to use his creativity and imagination. One of our favori... Read More »

I love playdates. It's a great opportunity for my little boy to hang out with other kids Oh, and it's wonderful having some adult converation! What is your idea of the ultimate playdate? For me, it would be in an enclosed play area (it's so hot in Southern California) with lots of wiggle (ahem running) room and a little cafe with healthy (dare I say organic?) ... The HAMSTER! That's what my son starts yelling when he sees the little brown and white hamsters scurrying about their funhouse. My son has a fair amount of toys and I sometimes look at what he has and think to myself, why didn't they have that when I was a child?
Thank... Read More »

I dream one day of having a little girl. I would love to share with her the things my mom and I shared...stories and songs and hopes and fears. My mom and I are still best friends. I have fond memories of us playing all kinds of games. One of the things we loved to d... Read More »

It wouldn't be a summer party without toys, right? This summer we'll be highlighting the latest summer toys so you'll have plenty of great ideas to keep your kids active. Before I bring a toy into our home, I consider a few things. First of all, I want to know that it's safe. I want to make sure it isn't made of materials that can pose a choking hazard or leech ... We took my son to Toys R Us a week or so ago to find him a toddler bed (that story is definitely best suited for another post). Â This wasn't his first time, but it was definitely the first time he actually had an opinion about the toys. Â He spoke to Elmo...LIVE, lunged on an Elmo chair, and WOULD NOT leave the "Wonder Pets" aisle. Â After much protesting, we walked ... Read More »

"Open her world, her mind, her heart"
When I was a little girl, I played with Barbie dolls and Cabbage Patch Kids. Â In fact, I still have them boxed up at my parent's house hoping that a little girl in our future may appreciate them as much as I did. Â Little girls and their dolls go hand in hand. Â If you go to Toys R Us or any other toy retailer you'll find row ... Read More »
