One of my biggest skin care challenges is finding products that are designed for sensitive skin yet effective. I don't mind if a product is mildly scented, as long as it's not overwhelming. With combination skin, I need a group of products that will assist with hydration without causing me to breakout.
I'm very careful about the skin care products I try, parti... Read More »

Thank you to Kroger and CoverGirl for sponsoring this review. While CoverGirl provided me with a $30 gift card to purchase CoverGirl products at Kroger stores, the opinions I've expressed here are solely my own, represent my honest viewpoint, and not that of CoverGirl, Kroger, or Proctor & Gamble. I am making no claims about the products, just expressi... Read More »

In just one week, we will celebrate the dads in our lives. I don't know about you but I'm struggling to figure out what to get my husband (on the contrary, I know exactly what I'm going to get my own father!). My husband is actually very low-maintenance and often tells me that he'd be happy with whatever I picked out. But, this year he is going to get some amazi... Read More »

A few years ago, I found it very difficult to find safe, sustainable skin care and cleaning products for our family. These days, the sheer number of choices can be overwhelming. While I definitely have my favorites, I'm always open to trying new eco-friendly products to see if there might be something that works more effectively for our family's needs, is more affor... As a busy mom of two, I'm lucky if I get in 5 minute shower on most days. I simply don't have the time for a complicated beauty regime. Before I had children, I made it a point to get regular skin care and beauty treatments. Facials, in particular, were something I looked forward to in order to give my skin a thorough cleansing and boost. These days, I have to... Read More »

It's the middle of winter and my skin is dry, cracked and irritated. It doesn't help that I work part-time as an RN and my hands are subjected to frequent hand-washing and drying antibacterial hand gels. My skin is highly sensitive so I'm always hesitant to try a new skin care product. However, after reading about Eucerin, I agreed to try out a few skin care produ... Read More »

Every time I receive a skin care consultation, I am asked about my regimen. As a busy, working mom, I'm lucky if I'm awake enough to remember to remove my makeup. My saving grace is that I have good genes. Both of my parents have aged gracefully and I seem to be following suit. Despite my lack of a routine, I understand the importance of cleansing, exfoliating... Read More »

When I was a child, my mother told me that taking a shower when I was sick would only make me feel worse. Twenty + years later, it seems funny to me, despite the fact that I know her intentions were all good. I have actually found the opposite to be true. When I'm sick in bed, feeling miserable, I force myself to take a shower. There is something about making ... Read More »

As a mom, I often neglect to take care of myself like I did when I was young and single. Most days I fail to get 8 hours of sleep and I'm lucky if I get in a shower before noon. Prior to this weekend, I hadn't received a manicure or pedicure since I was pregnant with my daughter. I've had the occasional facial and massage, but nothing consistent.
I have heard... Read More »

Companies are beginning to recognize the importance of providing consumers with greener, cleaner, more natural products. I'm particularly concerned with the products used by and consumed by my children. Their growing bodies should be exposed to as few toxins as possible, to ensure they get the best chance at a healthy physical and psychological development.

I don't get enough facials...or massages...or pedicures...or baths. As a working mom, I tend to go, go, go in an effort to take care of everyone but myself.
About a week ago, I had the perfect excuse to take a nice long bath. I received a lovely set of eco-friendly bath pro... Read More »

Earlier this month, I had an opportunity to check out Dermalogica's skin care line. I've been using their products for almost a month, and I am impressed with how my skin looks and feels. The company recently debuted their new UltraCalming line designed to provide relief for sensitized skin. My initial question was, what is "sensitized" skin? I have sensitive ... Read More »

I've never really been great at keeping a skin care regimen. I can't tell you how many skin care counters and day spas I've been to, all with different recommendations for my skin. While I have some dry areas and a few fine lines, my skin is relatively healthy. I'm at an... Read More »
