Every year before Thanksgiving, we sit down with our children to write a Christmas Wish List. Very often, we'll pick up a few paper ads and allow them to peruse and circle their favorite items. As is typical of a 6 year old boy, his list primarily consists of video games, LEGOS, and Disney Infinity characters.

Ten days ago, Disney/Pixar's animated film Cars 2 raced to the #1 spot at the close of opening weekend. My son can't stop talking about the film, and it helps that we have some movie-inspired toys to keep us occupied. We've also been "training" with Finn McMissile in Cars 2: The Video Game.

When my husband and I decided to get the Wii, we envisioned it being years before our children would be able to enjoy it. A majority of the games we own are for us...to keep our minds and our bodies active. But as I'm learning, there is no shortage of games targeted towards preschoolers just like my son.

Since I am a total gamer, I was super excited (in a geeky sort of way) about an opportunity to speak with Pokémon Expert Seth McMahill. The very fact that Nintendo has a Pokémon Expert fascinates me. I danced my way through high school, college, and young adulthood. While I still retain my love for dancing, I gave up late nights out when I started dating my husband (who ironically does not share my love for dance). These days, I get my dance on at home!

Earlier this week, I told you about the Disney Interactive Studios' new video game releases. Many of their new releases are based on popular Disney movies and shows. One of my son's favorite Disney movies is Disney/Pixar Cars so you can imagine his excitement about getting a chance to play Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales on our Wii.
The game was inspired by D... Read More »

My son hasn't been exposed to the world of gaming (yet), but he does enjoy preschool electronic learning toys so I'm certain he's heading in that direction. If you've got a child (or a husband) who's had their eye on the Nintendo DSi, you'll be happy to know that Gam... Read More »
