I Want A Wii!

December 19, 2008

I know, I know…You’ve heard me say that a gazillion times!  Imagine my poor husband. Denver Mile High Mamas recently hosted a Wii Fit party and are giving away Wii and Wii Fit to one very lucky person!  Head on over before December 20 for your chance to win!

Gettin’ (Wii) Fit in the New Year

December 12, 2008

Dear Santa hubby  Nintendo

This year, all this mama wants for Christmas is a Nintendo Wii

You may be asking why a grown woman wants a gaming system.  Well, BC (before children) I had all the time in the world to go to the gym or take nice long runs.  Lately the only gym I’ve been going to is The Little Gym and the only running I’ve been doing is after my toddler.  But I’ve resolved that 2009 is the year to lose this extra 5 10 13 pounds that have been weighing me down (literally).  Oh I’ve tried Weight Watchers…with success too!  But getting rid of the jiggle jelly belly is going to require more than mathematical point calculations.  The only feasible way to get moving is to do it at home when my son goes to sleep.  If I had a Wii Fit I could work out every night in the comfort of my own home. I’d even think about allowing hubby to get his game on!

I’ve always been a fan of the 3/2 rule (3 days of cardio, 2 days of strength training) so here is my personal Wii Fit Workout routine:

Monday: 45 minutes of Step Aerobics

Tuesday:  30 minutes of lower body workout (Single Leg Extensions, Lunges)

Wednesday: 30-45 minutes of walking/running (it’s the middle of the week so this will get me over the hump)

Thursday: 30 minutes of upper body workout (Torso Twists, Push-Ups, and Side Planks)

Friday:  30-45 minutes of Hula Hooping my way to the weekend

Saturday:  Party Dance like it’s 1999 with Dance Dance Revolution

Sunday:  Whew…time for a little rejuvenation with Downward Dog Tree Pose, Warrior, and Half Moon Yoga. Don’t forget to BREATHE!

So you see…all I really need is to win one of the Wii/Wii Fit packages that 3 of the most popular bloggers on the web are giving away.  Head on over to Magpie Musing, Mothergoosemouse and, Los Angelista for your chance at this awesome system!

Wii Wish You a Merry Fitness…

December 10, 2008

So by now it must be obvious that all I want for Christmas is a Wii!  Hehe!  I read this amazing story of a blogger who lost over 60 pounds with the Wii Fit!  I was inspired and motivated not only to get a Wii Fit but to lose this extra baby weight I’ve been carrying around for almost 18 months.  So I’ve decided to jump on the Wii bandwagon and join a fantastic group of women who are striving to attain their fitness and weight loss goals through the Nintendo Wii Fit.  To kick off the New Year, New You Wii Fit Challenge the gals at Wii Fit Mommies are hosting a Twitter party on December 10th at 8 pm EST.  There will be lots of giveaways including a Wii/Wii Fit!  Head on over to the site and join the forum for everything from weight loss tips to struggles and challenges to keep the weight off.
