We're in the midst of summer and over here in Southern California it's been hot! Apart from simply dressing in lighter colors and less clothing (as in skirts and sundresses), I hadn't really thought much about wearing clothing specifically designed to keep ... Read More »

It's the last shopping weekend before Christmas, and retailers nationwide are drawing shoppers in with deals, discounts, coupons, and more. Before I had children, I wouldn't mind waking up at 4 am to avoid the crowds and score the best deals. But shopping these days involves much more than throwing on a pair of sweats and caffeinating. Which is why I love shoppi... Read More »

It's funny how much I've learned this time around as a mother to two. Before my son was born, I bought way too many toys, books, clothes, and shoes. There was so much that he didn't use or wear. Fortunately, our family, friends, neighbors, and local charities have benefited ... Read More »

As an eco-minded mom, I try to purchase organic, local, sustainable foods and products. But what doesn't immediately come to mind is to shop for organic clothing. Cotton contains 25% of the world's pesticides, many of which are "possible," "likely," "probable," or "known" human carcinogens (Environmental Protection Agency). Did you know that cotton uses approximately 25... Read More »

Babies spit up. It's a given. My son spit up until he was over 6 months of age and my daughter seems to be following suit. Apart from the fact that it's messy and time consuming, it doesn't seem to bother her, so we (including our Pediatrician) aren't concerned. I never know when I'm going to have to change her (I don't like her wet), so I have a plentiful sup... Read More »

Boutiques are one of my favorite kinds of stores to shop in. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of opportunities to frequent the ones in my area, as I get closer and closer to my due date. What's great about boutiques is that they offer unique items, you often can't find in other stores. But that also means that sometimes you'll see something you like, and it wo... Read More »

When I was younger, my mom and I would go shopping for clothes almost every week. Sometimes it would simply be window shopping...other times we'd buy outfits for school and work. If you can believe it, I find shopping for our son and soon-to-be born baby girl more enjoyable than shopping fo... Read More »
