We finally moved into our very first home (purchased all by ourselves!) in October. Owning a home has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Along with privacy (and many more amenities, of course), I have the freedom to decorate to my heart’s content. Since my husband and I got married 3 years ago, we’ve either lived in an apartment or with my parents (joy!). I’ve always had to stifle the desire in me to sponge paint the drab white walls in our apartment and I literally had to hold my husband back so he didn’t rewire and illuminate the place! I was able to cope with the fact that I couldn’t express the Martha Stewart in me but I really felt like I missed out on something important since I wasn’t able to decorate my son’s room. What am I saying…he never even had a room until we bought our house.

We’ve been in our house 6 months and it felt like we were painters and our house was the canvas. Well…actually…that is exactly how it was! The men in my life (my husband, my father, and my father-in-law) spent many days and nights painting the ENTIRE house. I chose this amazingly vibrant blue for my son’s blue room and the result was that it was bright and cheerful and…plain! Don’t get me wrong…they did a fabulous job. The room was just unfinished. I had been thinking about what I wanted to do with it when along came Bright Star Kids.

To be honest with you, my first encounter with the company sold me before I ever saw their products. They have the most outstanding customer service. The service is quick and personalized…something that I didn’t expect from a company all the way “down under.” I suppose I should start by telling you a bit about the company:

Bright Star Kids is a rapidly growing Australian business that loves to create premium removable Wall Graphics and fun Personalised Kids Labels. You might also like some of our other products, with our Wheelie Bin Labels and Bag Tags being really popular.

After much deliberation, my husband and I finally decided on the Train Spotting Wall Graphics and the Wall Letters to spell out my son’s name. My son LOVES trains and the Wall Graphics set complimented his personality (and his room) really well. You don’t have to be an artist or a designer to apply the graphics. You simply plan where you want the graphics, peel, and stick. What’s great about the wall graphics is that they’re pre cut, removable (they won’t peel your paint), and waterproof. You’re also not limited to using them on walls…windows and furniture also work well as canvases. The quality is superb…much better than I had ever expected. The colors are vibrant and the designs are fresh and modern. When I look at them from afar, it looks like they’ve been painted on (they look that good). The Wall Letters complimented the graphic set well and added that personal touch to my son’s room. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Bright Star Kids.

The company sells a wide variety of products to decorate and personalize your child’s room. I recommend involving older children in the decorating process to allow creative expression and stimulation of their imagination. Be sure to check out the company’s Help Centre where you’ll find Decorating Tips, a Photo Gallery, and more information on obtaining that perfect “look.”

I know that seems trivial and I’m just grateful to have my son but part of me felt like I missed out on the fun of decorating my son’s bedroom.

My son is 18 months old and I’m so happy that he has his own room (finally!). We’ve had so much fun painting his room in vibrant blue, transforming his closet into a magnetic chalkboard, and adding decor to make it his own. I absolutely love the vibrant colors and kid-inspired designs offered by Olive Kids. If you’re like me, then everything has to match! Coordinating colors and designs is easy and affordable.

We recently received a set of the most adorable ceramic Trains, Planes and Trucks Drawer Knob Set. My son, being the boy that he is, already loves anything with wheels so these were the perfect addition to his room decor. The drawer knobs are hand-painted and add a nice accent to his dresser. They’re super easy to install (I was able to do it) and affordable at only $19.95 for a set of four. If your child’s room is already decked out in Olive Kids’ style, these drawer knobs are the perfect coordinating accessory.

Check out Olive Kids for fun, affordable room decor and accessories.
