A few weeks ago, I introduced you to Safeway's new mom to mom line of baby products designed by moms, for moms. The line, created exclusively for Safeway and it's subsidiaries, was relaunched with a new, improved design. Products include diapers, wipes, skin ca... Read More »

I first discovered blogs when I was pregnant with my son. Â A high-risk pregnancy landed me on bedrest and I was forced to stay connected via the internet. Â Unlike most moms-to-be, I researched, registered, and shopped online without ever seeing a product. Â These days, I still do most of my research and shopping online.
During Oscar weekend, I had an opportunity ... Read More »

These days, it's much easier to get out of the house with two children. Â My 3 year old son is fully potty trained which means I don't have to tote nearly as many diapers, wipes, and extra changes of clothing. Â While I still need to pack a full diaper bag for days out with the two of them, I can get away with something smaller for short trips to the store or the park... Read More »

My husband and I have owned 3 strollers in the 3+ years since we've become parents. The first stroller we owned was a travel system. I chose the system primarily for the car seat which, at the time, was rated as the safest on the market. Unfortunately that meant settling for a mediocre stroller. When my son was a baby, I won a luxury stroller, retiring the for... Nothing went the way I expected...the way it happens to other people...or in the movies. It was harder than I thought...more painful than I imagined... It feels like an eternity since my son was born on that warm Southern California day. The specifics of his birth are alre... Read More »

Just when I reached that point where I could leave the house without a diaper bag, my daughter was born. It's been 3 1/2 years and my designer purse is sitting in my closet gathering dust from lack of use. Fortunately, today's moms have much in the way fashionably functional o... Read More »

Last week, a friend and I were talking about the joys and struggles of parenting. Both of us have children around the same ages, spaced approximately 2 years apart. We talked about sibling relationships, discipline, "me" time, and more. As we were talking, I realized ... Read More »

In my three + years of being a mom, I've owned at least 5 diaper bags. Some have been used until they've fallen apart (literally). Others are gathering dust in my closet because they were not practical or functional for toting around everything necessary for a baby and a toddler.
Clic-It is a diaper bag system that makes it easy to organize the things you need fo... Read More »

My daughter is right in the midst of exploring and expanding her palate. I adore this time when I get to introduce my daughter to the wonderful world of food (because who doesn't like to eat?!?!). If you've read some of my previous posts, you may remember that I failed miserably at making my son's baby food. I've actually had a lot more success making my daughte... Neither of my children have been particularly fond of the bottle. However, since this mama has to work, my babies have to take a bottle. When my son was born, I didn't have a lot of BPA-free options. It's been 3 years and I think I would struggle to find a bottle that contains BPA.
When my daughter was born, we tried several different kinds of bottles. In t... Read More »

Despite the fact that I had a very rough pregnancy with my son, I have fond memories of my baby shower. My two very best friends planned the event to the T and went so far as to MAKE diaper cakes for each table!
I always find it difficult to shop for the "mother-to-be."Â Whil... Read More »

We have a beautiful crib sitting in our bedroom that's never been slept in by our daughter. As attachment parents, our children co sleep with us. How long is still the question, since some nights our three year old gets thrown in the mix. My daughter is an excellent nighttime sleeper, but isn't the best at taking naps in the crib or pack and play. She's grown ... A couple of weeks ago, I attended a meet-up with some local bloggers who were quite surprised that I was there without my daughter in tow. You see, she's usually attached to me. I love, love, love keeping my babies close. My daughter will only be a baby for a short time...she's already mobile...crawling and pulling up. Soon she'll be walking and yearning for i... Companies are beginning to recognize the importance of providing consumers with greener, cleaner, more natural products. I'm particularly concerned with the products used by and consumed by my children. Their growing bodies should be exposed to as few toxins as possible, to ensure they get the best chance at a healthy physical and psychological development.

When I was pregnant with my son, I struggled to find more than one or two companies offering BPA-free bottles and feeding products. It's been three years, and I don't think I could find a BPA-containing feeding product at Target if I wanted to (which is a good thing). The challenge is now to decide which bottle, sippy cup, feeding set is most fitting for our child... I love living in our home...the home we purchased with our own money and all of the freedoms that come with it. I can paint my bathroom magenta and get black out curtains if I want (although the hubby would never go for magenta). I can hang pictures of places I dream of visiting and tear out the tile in my kitchen without asking anyone (but the hubby, of course).Â... It's funny how much I've learned this time around as a mother to two. Before my son was born, I bought way too many toys, books, clothes, and shoes. There was so much that he didn't use or wear. Fortunately, our family, friends, neighbors, and local charities have benefited ... Read More »

As a mom to two little ones, I've been through my share of baby products. Safety and durability top the list. But style and softness are also important.

Every night, before my son goes to sleep, we brush teeth, read stories, tuck him in with his bear and his favorite blanket, and kiss him good night. He thrives on that routine, and when it's disrupted, we hear about it.
While some may disagree, I absolutely believe in giving children "security" blankets and toys. My children co-sleep during their early years, a... Read More »

As an eco-minded mom, I try to purchase organic, local, sustainable foods and products. But what doesn't immediately come to mind is to shop for organic clothing. Cotton contains 25% of the world's pesticides, many of which are "possible," "likely," "probable," or "known" human carcinogens (Environmental Protection Agency). When I think about the fact that over ...
