For the last month, I’ve been seeing the holiday decor, toys, and gifts trickle into stores. Right after Halloween (even the day after, it seems), stores undergo a serious Christmas transformation to prepare for the almost 2 month shopping season. Wouldn’t it be nice to have your entire shopping list completed early in the season so that you can actually enjoy the season, relax, and spend time with friends and family? Were it not for those last minute sales that always seem to pop up as the season draws to a close, I’d have all my shopping completed early on. Even worse is waiting through the season, hoping that a desired item will go on sale, only to find that it’s sold out.

Committed to offering it’s customers the lowest prices throughout the season, Walmart has just started it’s highly competitive Christmas Price Guarantee. If you find a product you’ve purchased at Walmart advertised at a lower price at a competitor’s store, Walmart will provide a gift card for the difference. Here are some important points to remember about Walmart’s Christmas Price Guarantee:

1. Christmas Price Guarantee applies to merchandise including toys, electronics, home goods, etc. but does not apply to food or grocery items

2. The product must be identical in brand, size, color, quantity, model number, etc. and must be in stock.

3. Customers should bring in both the current ad and their receipt to the Walmart Customer Service Desk through December 25th. Photocopies of the ad won’t be accepted.

4. Items placed on layaway are eligible.

5. Christmas Price Guarantee does not cover competitors’ online prices.

4. Christmas Price Guarantee does not cover competitors’ Black Friday ads, however, their Ad-Match policy will be in effect.

This season, shop with confidence, knowing that you’ll be getting the lowest prices on all of your holiday gifts at Walmart.

About a year ago, I really started pursuing my passion for photography. I invested in an SLR camera (and some other equipment), read some books, and gleaned wisdom at conferences and informally through photographers I know and admire. And then I did what is probably the most important part of learning to do something…I practiced…a lot. In fact, I’m still practicing because I’ve got a long way to go. Unless I’m really struggling to juggle the two kids, I’ve got my camera in tow. Some of the best photographic moments are unplanned.

I used to think that photography was all about the camera. While that is mostly true, the equipment…the lenses, external flashes, tripods, SD cards, and editing software are also very important in achieving beautiful, memorable photos.

A few weeks ago, I reviewed KODAK’s new EASYSHARE camera. If you are not ready to invest a lot of money in an SLR camera, I highly recommend this point and shoot camera. The photos, particularly the ones taken outside, exceeded my expectations. At 14 megapixels, it exceeds that of my SLR (impressive!).

As part of my review, I received an Eye-Fi wireless memory card. I opted to review the card separately, because while it can be used with KODAK’s EASYSHARE camera, it can also be used with any camera. Have you ever taken a photo and wanted to share it right away with friends and family? Now you can! The memory card stores media and fits into cameras, like a conventional SDHC card. With built-in Wi-Fi, you can easily transfer photos and videos to your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Setup simply involves inserting the card AND the USB reader that comes with it into your computer. Select your Wi-Fi network (you can add up to 32), the folder where you’d like photos to be transferred to, and the online sharing site (from 25) you prefer. Insert the card into your camera, take a photo, and when your camera is within range of a network you’ve selected, photos and videos will be transferred to the folder and sharing site you specified during set-up.

The Eye-Fi card is compatible with a TON of different cameras (over 1,000) including my SLR! With 4GB of memory you can store up to 2,000 photos! I believe that capacity is much more than the card I currently have in my camera. For more ways the card can help you stay organized and connected, just visit their website.

Disclosure: I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.

Having children means coming to terms with their little messes. Whether it’s my daughter throwing her Cheerios all over the living room, or my son emptying his sand-filled shoes on our floors, there is never a dull moment when it comes to domestics! Thankfully, Dyson’s Digital Slim Vacuum is versatile enough to handle these not so teeny messes. Check out how we’ve been using the powerful cordless vacuum:

As you can see, Dyson packs power and versatility into the machine. I don’t even think I need to use my full-sized vacuum downstairs anymore since I don’t have carpet.

Can you think of other ways to use this innovative cordless vacuum?

Dyson’s Digital Slim Vacuum retails for $299 and is available at Walmart.

This giveaway is now closed. Thank you so much for stopping by. The winner is Noreen (it’s not often that random.org picks the first comment!). Congratulations!

It’s another day in the Bailey household and the redundant question of the day is “What’s for dinner?” My husband is the savvy one and I often skirt cooking duty in exchange for clean-up! My husband is probably the messiest cook I’ve ever known but I can’t complain because his meals are soooo yummy. I think I’d probably be inclined to spend more time in the kitchen if I had products that made cooking and clean-up easier like The Veggie-Peel.

I have to thank Nicole over at Apron Strings Aflutter for introducing me to this fabulously ingenious product. Gone are the days of clogged kitchen sink drains and flying cucumber peels. The Veggie-Peel is a simple, savvy, safe solution for meal prep. It features a double-sided blade, which makes it user-friendly for anyone, regardless of which hand they prefer to use. The fruit and vegetable peelings empty into an acrylic chamber which has a removable cap. Clean-up is literally the time it takes to open the chamber and empty the peelings into the trash. The Veggie-Peel is simple to clean and dishwasher safe.

I’m convinced that carpet and children should not co-exist in the same space! I guess I should say that having a CLEAN carpet seems like a distant memory I vaguely recall years ago before pureed peas and Cheerios. Our little boy is learning how to feed himself. What a messy endeavor that is! Our dining room is carpeted (whose bright idea was that anyway?) which means I’m on my hands and knees like Cinderella after every meal. Most days I use water in vain to try and remove the crumbs and food that my son has thrown on the floor.

Did you know that according to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) the main ingredients in most carpet cleaning solutions are perchloroethylene (used in dry cleaning) and naphthalene. The fumes released can cause dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, disorientation, nausea, kidney and liver damage. Naphthalene is neurotoxic and a possible human carcinogen (EPA). Be sure to read labels carefully before purchasing any household cleaning agent.

Thanks to Mom Central, we were able to test out WD40′s new eco-friendly, non-toxic carpet stain and odor eliminator called Spot Shot. I have almost completely resorted to “green” household cleaners for three reasons:

1. Our precious environment will not continue to hold up against damage from toxic chemicals

2. My little boy is growing and developing and at risk for suffering permanent effects from chemicals and substances abundant in our world today

3. Chronic diseases like cancer have been linked to environmental sources and I want to do everything I can to lower the risk for myself and my family

I have to admit that Spot Shot had me at non-toxic and biodegradable. Spot Shot has been approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute for product performance and is effective in removing tough stains and odors and prevents them from returning via it’s anti-resoiling agents. It also contains dual-odor eliminators to absorb and neutralize odors and has a pleasant smell!
