As a long-term contact lens wearer, I've experienced dryness and irritation as a result of extended wear. I currently use daily wear soft contact lenses which I replace every month or so. For many years, I've been using a plain saline solution to inser... Read More »

I'm an idealist...a dreamer...a romantic. Naturally, I'm drawn to movies of this nature.
Two weeks ago, The Switch was released on DVD and Blu-ray. This is one of those movies I had hoped to see in theaters, but never had an opportunity due to busy schedules and lack of childcare. The film stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Jeff Goldblum, Juliette Lewis a... Read More »

When Playhouse Disney evolved to become Disney Junior, I was pleased that they continued to air my son's favorites including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Special Agent Oso, and Chuggington. Each show is unique and touches on a variety of topics including friendship and teamwork. Special Agent Oso, geared towards preschoolers, stars a teddy bear and special agent-in-tra... Read More »

As a busy mom of two, I'm lucky if I get in 5 minute shower on most days. I simply don't have the time for a complicated beauty regime. Before I had children, I made it a point to get regular skin care and beauty treatments. Facials, in particular, were something I looked forward to in order to give my skin a thorough cleansing and boost. These days, I have to... Read More »

Since I am a total gamer, I was super excited (in a geeky sort of way) about an opportunity to speak with Pokémon Expert Seth McMahill. The very fact that Nintendo has a Pokémon Expert fascinates me. The video game series was first introduced 14 years ago, and Nintendo recently released Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version Video Games for the DS.

Some of my fondest memories of traveling through a country involve food. I prefer local cafes or bistros as opposed to fancy 5 star restaurants hyped up in a tourist guide. When I visit a foreign county, I want to experience national traditions and local cultural intricacies. Our visit to España was one of the most memorable travel experiences! My wife and I spen... I feel like I'm the very last person on Earth to discover Redbox (pease tell me I'm not the only one?). My husband has been a loyal subscriber to a competitor for years (as in longer than we've been married). I never really questioned it or thought too much about the fact that there might be something better for one of our shared pastimes. But a few weeks ago, R... Read More »

I first discovered blogs when I was pregnant with my son. A high-risk pregnancy landed me on bedrest and I was forced to stay connected via the internet. Unlike most moms-to-be, I researched, registered, and shopped online without ever seeing a product. These days, I still do most of my research and shopping online.
During Oscar weekend, I had an opportunity ... Read More »

While I find it beneficial to shop for my pregnant friends from a registry, sometimes I like to gift something unique yet functional. One of my top recommendations for creative baby gifts are from a company called The Baby Bunch. I've had the privilege of featuring the company several times and I'm always impressed with their latest in beautiful, usable gifts.

Disney has a way of taking it's animated films, which target younger audiences, and broadening their reach to appeal to adults and children of all ages, across time. Such is the case with Bambi, a film I've been watching since I was a child but is still very relevant today.

Last week, MSNBC reported that researchers from the University of Arizona identified E.coli amongst a host of other bacteria on shopping carts. I am honestly not surprised. Despite the number of times I wash and antibac my children's hands, they're still carrying around a number of microorganisms they've picked up from toys, doorknobs, and other surfaces they come... These days, it's much easier to get out of the house with two children. My 3 year old son is fully potty trained which means I don't have to tote nearly as many diapers, wipes, and extra changes of clothing. While I still need to pack a full diaper bag for days out with the two of them, I can get away with something smaller for short trips to the store or the park... Read More »

Before I had children, I spent a lot of time in the car. I lived in LA and my commutes for work or leisure could very well be over an hour. Rather than stressing over the time I would spend sitting parked on the 405, I turned to music. I hooked my iPod up to my stereo and set up playlists from music I had downloaded from iTunes. Rather than just tolerating tha... Read More »

If I allowed it, my son would snack all day long. I wouldn't necessarily consider that harmful, except that his snack choices are often fruit snacks as opposed to fruit or baked potato chips instead of fresh cut veggies. I'm not opposed to snacking, as long as those snacks are not foods filled with empty calories and processed ingredients.

Of late, I've written a lot about how we stay healthy during cold and flu season. Many of the moms in my social network agree that illness has hit hard this winter and ironically, this week we're all sick! Probiotics are a staple in our household, and everyone except my husband gets a daily dose of the immune supporting substance.
Probiotic means "for life" and t... Read More »

On those rare occasions when the kids are napping in the car or they're with my husband, I relish the opportunity to listen to "grown-up" music. I'm very open to a wide variety of music genre and recently had an opportunity to check out the Soundtrack to Pretty Little Liars.

We're in the midst of winter and I'm doing everything I can to keep our family healthy. We're washing our hands and using antibacterial hand gels, eating healthy and taking our vitamins, striving to get enough exercise and enough sleep, and diligently taking probiotics. We've also started using a humidifier in our bedroom after reading about the benefits.

It's the middle of winter and my skin is dry, cracked and irritated. It doesn't help that I work part-time as an RN and my hands are subjected to frequent hand-washing and drying antibacterial hand gels. My skin is highly sensitive so I'm always hesitant to try a new skin care product. However, after reading about Eucerin, I agreed to try out a few skin care produ... Read More »

Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka as Dr. Seuss, has been iconic in transforming children's literature. The fact that only 50 words exist in Green Eggs and Ham demonstrates his brilliance. We introduced my three year old son to the books last year and he finds them silly and enjoyable. I know that beyond the fact that they're entertaining, his books are helping my son lear... I'm sitting here at home, a bit rundown from a busy weekend, hoping this tickle in the back of my throat is an allergy and not something worse. Despite the fact that I actively strive to keep our family well, it's winter and illness is widespread. I have two small children, the oldest of which is in preschool and constantly exposed to germs.
