During the past month, I've written about companies and organizations that support breast cancer research and awareness. On Saturday October 30th, twenty-five cyclists will attempt to complete four consecutive 35-minute spin classes and one Pilates class at four New York Sports Club fitness centers throughout Soho and Greenwich Village. This is the first annual NYC ... Read More »

On Sunday, the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County (CASA) held their annual Pumpkins & Pancakes Halloween Extravaganza at South Coast Plaza. Kids rocked out to tunes spun by Radio Disney, parents sipped cappuccinos and ate a gourmet breakfast catered by Plum's Cafe...the Costa Mesa Fire Department gave tours of their Fire Truck while adjacent skat... Companies (both big and small) are moving their conversation into "the real world" and engaging with bloggers in cities across the country. Last year, I was invited to meet with General Mills in Minneapolis. It was my first "official" blog event and I was honored to be their guest. I had "read" about bloggers being flown across the country to meet with brands, b... Read More »

Last month I told you all about the 2011 Honda Odyssey. I was invited to a media preview in La Jolla, CA and opted to appear on camera with my thoughts about the newly-designed mini van. I honestly never thought they'd use my video...but they did! It went up this week along with Jodi's from Mom's Favorite Stuff on sites like dooce and BlogHer! Without further ... Read More »

Did you know that nearly 3,000 children are removed from their parents' care for abuse or neglect in Orange County on any given day? The number is astoundingly tragic. But these children have hope, thanks to an organization called CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County). The non-profit organization trains community volunteers to serve as mentors ... Read More »

I've never thought about using tuna in an Italian recipe, so I thought I'd share Chef Scott's take on Sundried Tomato and Basil Pasta.

I am so excited to share with you my latest writing venture. Right before BlogHer 2010, I was asked by Evenflo to be one of their ambassadors. Over the past year, I've had an opportunity to work closely with companies in this way, but this ambassador program is unlike any I've participated in. I get to share with all of you my savvy parenting insights (which can... Read More »

Halloween in Southern California truly marks the end of summer and the countdown to Thanksgiving and Christmas. As a child, I remember going to our local mall to trick-or-treat because it was safe. Theme parks, recognizing parent's desire for a fun, safe, memorable way to spend the holiday with their kids, have introduced not-so-spooky Halloween-themed celebration... Read More »

I have to admit that I was super excited when Disney acquired the Muppets, because many of my childhood memories are filled with a certain mouse and a certain frog.
Last week, I had the privilege of attending the launch of two new cooking video series on Disney.com and DisneyFamily.com. The Muppets Kitchen With Cat Cora is a series of webisodes created to "inspir... Read More »

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year in Southern California because the weather (typically) cools down and the festivities begin as we count down to Christmas. Irvine Regional Park opened their 5th annual Pumpkin Patch over the weekend and you don't want to miss it. Last year was our first visit and my son had so much fun we had to do it again this year.

As you know, I am passionate about the environment. Together, my husband and I encourage and remind each other to reduce, reuse, and recycle re-purpose. This weekend, we're heading to Long Beach for The Great Shark Affaire. This is the first of a series of public events that will focus on the importance of eco-systems in our oceans. This weekend, attendees wil... Read More »

In true Disney magic, Mickey and his friends wowed us with dancing brooms, levitation, and transformation. Mickey's Magic Show merges professional illusionists with Disney characters in a show that will captivate both young and old. I'm not certain my son grasped most of the magic, but he really enjoyed seeing his favorite characters live on stage.

Once the leaves change and the weather cools, Disneyland undergoes a spooktacular transformation. Over the weekend, we got a first look at Halloween Time (which runs through October 31). I can be somewhat of a geek when it comes to museums. Before children, you would often find me perusing the works of Monet and Renoir. I'm the museum goer who drives my husband crazy reading each caption word for word.
If you can believe it, I've never been to the California Science Center...not even as a child. However, being that it's the West Coast's large... Read More »
