It's the city of glitz and glam and home to notable Hollywood celebrities. It's also one of the most glamorous places in the world for beauty, fashion, and shopping.
This week's iCapture gives you a taste of Beverly Hills, where I'm currently staying to cover the upcoming 3D animated film The Lorax. Here are just a few photos I took on a leisurely Sunday afternoo... Read More »

It wasn't until I was in my early twenties that I started leaving the comforts of home to venture out and see the world. I had just graduated college and my dreams were big. I wanted to visit all of the places I had read about in books and studied in school. It really didn't take long to decide that my travel adventures would start in Europe. Sometimes there are b... Having lived in Los Angeles my entire life, I'm always amazed when I happen upon a new activity or destination. Yesterday, we explored our inner artist at Zimmerpalooza, a celebration of the arts presented by the Zimmer Children's Museum. The charity event was held at the Annenberg Community Beach House, which is the only public beach club in the US. Built in th... Read More »

I vaguely remember attending one of my very first musicals with my mother. I was 8 or 9 and the show was Annie...I was hooked! At the time, I didn't know if I simply enjoyed the theater or actually wanted to be a part of it. One improv class in high school set me straight!
Every chance I get I'm at the theater. And, it just so happens that one of my very good... Read More »

How are you doing on those resolutions? For me, it's a constant and conscious effort to make sure I'm taking care of myself through fitness, a healthy diet, improved sleep, and stress management. I have a fitness and nutrition plan and am still working out how I'm going to manage my time so that sleep takes a higher priority. And as far as stress management goes... Read More »

I probably shouldn't admit that while I'm writing this post, I'm finishing the last few bites of an Artie Lange cupcake from Crumbs Bake Shop...the remnants of my birthday celebration. I'll have to work out at least double time this week to counter the butter, chocolate, and cream cheese that make this cupcake so decadent. And speaking of working out, it's the new y... Read More »

It's been a little quiet around here hasn't it? But with good reason. I'm in Santa Monica this week, covering the soon-to-be released film Big Miracle, inspired by the book and true story of Operation Breakthrough, which was an international effort to rescue three gray whales trapped near Point Barrow, Alaska. The film is phenomenal and I can't wait to share details a... Read More »

It's 5pm in LA on a Saturday night and I'm hanging in a 10,000 square foot art exhibition space/cafe with Japanese cosplay maids dressed in French maid outfits and pink earmuffs serving cookies and lollipops. Did I mention that I'm at an art exhibition...for children? Or that Tobey Maguire just might have made an appearance? Only in LA!

It's the third highest grossing film series of all time...a worldwide phenomenon...and now...the force is back! On display at Discovery Science Center. From the moment the show opened, I was captivated... Light and sound...picture and motion...make believe and reality converge into Cirque du Soleil's most imaginative show to date. Iris, which was specifically created for the city where it all began, debuted for an extensive run this past Fall at LA's historic Kodak Theatre. Much like Mystère, La Nouba, Wintuk, a... Read More »

Over the past few years, I've developed this incredible passion for photography. Since purchasing the iPhone earlier this year, I've come to rely on it's 5-megapixels camera for those brilliant, unexpected moments when my official camera is at home. In January, Cirque du Soleil's OVO will debut under the big top at the Santa Monica Pier. If there is any show that would be appropriate for children, I would venture to say it's this one. OVO takes guests into the world of insects as they work, eat, play, and fight. I was reading about the show earlier this week and was very intrigued.

Last week, I spent a weekend in New York and was fascinated at how festive the city looks this time of year. Unlike Southern California, where holiday decor is most often seen in specific stores and venues, the entire city of New York is "dressed up" for the season, with virtually no area left untouched. SoCal locals and visitors' best bet for experiencing the mag... Read More »

One of my favorite memories as a young, single woman were those last minute, impromptu visits to the theater (alone, at that). I've always been drawn to the arts, particularly musical theater, and at that time, dreamed of one day seeing a show on Broadway or in London. I've since seen numerous shows both on Broadway and in London, and while both are renowned for t... Read More »
