Only in Hollywood will you find snow-covered streets and a 60 foot tree with a twist. The Grinch, Max, and the Who-ville Whos once again return to Universal Studios Hollywood to celebrate Grinchmas!
Last weekend, the park was brimming with guests eager to begin the holiday season. Grinchmas, which runs continuously from December 17th through January 1st, 2012, is in full swing at the film studios-themed park where nearly every aspect of the park has been touched by the holiday spirit.

This year’s highlights include real snow play in the vicinity surrounding the Grinchmas tree, a close-up view of the original Who-ville film sets on the Studio Tour and a mini musical re-enactment of favorite scenes from the film, holiday cookies and crafts, photo opps with the Whos, celebrity readings of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and evening tree lighting ceremonies.

Since this wintery celebration only goes on for 18 days and thus the park can get very crowded, I recommend the following tips for making the most of your visit:
1. Arrive early. Once you’ve arrived, head straight for the Studio Tour as the wait can become very long.
2. Plan your day. Some key things to remember include the fact that the Grinch’s Winter Playground closes at 3:30 so be sure to get your snow play in early. Rather than attempting to see the first tree lighting ceremony (which tends to be the most crowded), opt for a later time and line up early. Plan to eat before or after the lunch rush to avoid long lines and crowded tables.
3. Consider purchasing an All You Can Eat Pass which offers unlimited dining at participating restaurants. If you have a large group or family, this will help save money on the cost of food.
4. Consider purchasing a Front of the Line Pass, particularly if you have young children. This pass offers priority access to all rides and attractions and reserved seating at all shows.
5. Download the Universal Studios Hollywood app for up-to-date wait times, show times, maps, and more.
6. Dress warm. Even if the weather is warm and comfortable during the day, evenings up at the studios can get quite chilly.

Grinchmas is included with the price of admission. And right now you can receive an annual pass for 2012 when you purchase a single day’s admission. For more information about their Buy a Day, Get 2012 Free promotion, just visit their website.
