Because we spend quite a bit of time in the car, we tune in to Radio Disney for family-friendly music and entertainment.  It’s a station I feel comfortable listening to with my children in the car and my son, in particular enjoys the music played.  Kids are encouraged to help select the music that is played and can call in to the network’s toll-free phone line.  The current playlist includes music by Selena Gomez & The Scene, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Willow Smith, Cody Simpson, Katy Perry, Taio Cruz and Allstar Weekend.

Over the weekend, Radio Disney offered LA locals and visitors the chance to hear some of their favorite up and coming artists at Hollywood & Highland Center during the first (and free) N.B.T. (Next BIG Thing) Concert.  N.B.T. is a daily series that showcases aspiring artists between the ages of 13-18.  Over the next 10 weeks, the five selected artists will receive exposure across a variety of platforms including Radio Disney and Disney Channel.  Listeners can vote on their favorite artist online, on Facebook, or via text (NBT to DISNEY).  At the end of each round, one act will be eliminated based on listener votes.  The winner will have their single released by Disney Music Group.
