I enjoy shopping for my children, even more than I enjoy shopping for myself. My son is now at this adorable age where he'll actually pick things out to wear, some of which go well together.
Tea Collection is one of my favorite children's clothing companies. As you might know, I have an incredible passion for travel...for discovering beauty...for interacting with... Read More »

Over the past year, I've sat in on numerous photography sessions while attending social media conferences. One of the tips that seemed to be shared repeatedly was the importance of taking pictures daily. If I don't have my DSLR in tow, I'm capturing my children's silly, adorable moments or the beauty of the US via my mobile phone. And while the best photographer... Read More »

Guests were offered a deeper connection through sneak peeks, first-looks, special announcements, and celebrity appearances. During D23 Expo, it was announced that produc... Read More »

For the past few years, my husband and I have been mindful of plastics. We've almost completely eliminated plastic water bottles (apart from when we're traveling and finding filtered water is difficult), opting for reusable and glass whenever possible. I carry a supply of reusable bags in my trunk and... Read More »

It seems like just a few months ago, I was cleaning out both of my children's drawers, bagging those outfits that no longer fit them to donate to our local Salvation Army. Today I put a shirt on my son that I had just bought not too long ago, only to find that either it shrunk in the wash, or he's outgrown it.
With back to school season here, we're sorting throug... Read More »

I love when my daughter runs up to me with a piece of paper in her hand, motioning for me to get her the box of crayons stored on our bookshelf. Both of my children enjoy coloring, but my husband and I agree that our daughter is the artistic, creative one. We wouldn't be surprised if she took it up as a hobby as she gets older because she colors much more than my ... Read More »

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
I absolutely love this quote from Mark Twain. It is why my husband and I lived, worked, and backpacked Europe ... Read More »

With the school-year on the horizon, it's time for parents and children to begin thinking about preparing lunches. For children who are not able to tolerate gluten, the task of finding healthful, palatable options in local grocery stores can be challenging for parents.
Several years ago, when my son was diagnose... Read More »

I am currently sitting in a bedroom in Benton Harbor, Michigan, listening to the thunder and rain as the lightning illuminates the sky, missing my bed. There's nothing like a good night's sleep, and while I definitely don't think I'm going to have any difficulty fa... Read More »

On any given day, I'm juggling schedules and multi-tasking...trying to stay organized so that I don't miss a school activity, a doctor appointment or a conference call. Technology is such that I can take a picture of my son, capture my daughter on video, record an interview, coordinate schedules with my husband, check my email, receive turn-by-turn navigational dire... Very few films touch me so deeply, that I want to go out and change the world (or at least attempt to). Most films amuse or entertain, keeping their audience somewhat detached so that they walk away feeling content with their life and the world they live in. The Help, which currently holds the number 1 spot at the box office, does just the opposite. I didn't wal... Read More »

When my son was a baby I couldn't wait for him to start walking (and talking, and dancing, and...). I am one of those parents that tend to be a little neurotic when it comes to milestones (after all...I'm a nurse). I've eased up a bit with my daughter, but continuously strive to ensure I'm doing my part to assist my children in accomplishing everything from taking t... Read More »

D23 Expo is all about first looks, sneak peeks, and special experiences, so it's fitting that fans and gamers would be able to get hands-on with Xbox's latest venture, Kinect: Disneyland Adventures. I don't think I've ever seen the Anaheim Convention Center so quiet...so still. Tonight, I had the rare opportunity to preview and photograph the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives and the Carousel of Projects. Tomorrow, when D23 Expo opens to the public, it will be filled with adults and children who have at least one thing in common...their love for all-thing... Read More »

We were recently given a chance to take an SUV out on the road, and as timing would have it, it fit in perfectly with our camping trip. I've been wanting to try the new Ford Explorer, but the popularity of the vehicle is astounding. When Lincoln showed up with their 2012 MKX All Wheel Drive SUV, we were quite surprised and very impressed. Despite that stereotypica... Read More »

A couple of weeks ago, I was helping my son get dressed and noticed one of his shirts was short. I've never been perfect with the laundry, but I was pretty certain I hadn't shrunk anything, particularly because this was a new shirt. Later that week, his teacher commented that she thought he had a growth spurt. Children grow so quickly!

If you follow me on any social media platform, you might have noticed that I like to indulge in coffee. I've gotten really good about limiting my trips to Starbucks to just once or twice a week, since I could literally be there every day if I allowed myself. I was also recently introduced to Starbucks Natural Fusions which means I can make a lot of my favorite drinks ... Read More »

When I think about the food at a theme park, I envision hamburgers and hot dogs, rather than chicken and tofu skewers or a healthy Greek salad. The beauty of visiting the Disneyland Resort is that you can experience both...in the same day if you desire.

For months years I had been asking begging the hubby for an iPhone. Every time I was in a circle of influential women, I'd be the odd one out, tweeting and updating from my Palm Pre Plus. As a side note, I actually really liked that phone. But it wasn't an iPhone. I saw many of my friends go through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations of the phone. I remember sittin... Read More »
