Hanging With The Muppets Published on Monday, June 27, 2011 by

Have you heard?  The Muppets are coming back to the big screen after an 11 year hiatus.  With a brand new Muppet, Jason Segel, and Amy Adams joining the troupe, the film is certain to be enjoyable.

The Muppets isn’t slated to be released until November 23rd, but earlier this year several of us had an opportunity to meet Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy over at one of the sound stages in Hollywood where the film was being produced.  I’ve actually been on many a set, having lived my entire life in LA, but this was a very unique experience.  I don’t think I really understood what was involved with producing a live-action film with both puppets and actors.  I’m very excited to see the finished work later this year.

Here is a brief synopsis of the film, courtesy of Disney:

Walter, who joins the cast as the newest Muppet, is the world’s biggest Muppet fan.  While vacationing in LA with his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams), he discovers the plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to drill for oil beneath the Muppet Theater.  Together, they join forces to help Kermit reunite the Muppets in order to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever to raise the $10 million needed to save the theater.

Last week, the official trailer was finally released which truly gives audiences a feel for the film. Stay tuned for the latest on The Muppets!

No compensation was received for this post. Earlier this year I was invited to LA to get an exclusive look at the film and the set, courtesy of Disney.

I am really looking forward to this movie, I love the Muppets and really miss them.
I would love to have seen them on the set, it would be so interesting to see how they work them with the live actors.
