Curious George Celebrates Latina Moms Published on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 by

With Mother’s Day just a few days away, many children’s television programs are airing special celebratory episodes.  This Friday, Curious George will celebrate Hispanic heritage and Latina moms with a new Mother’s Day Episode titled Mother’s Day Surprise.  The episode will feature George and the Man with the Yellow Hat helping Marco surprise his Mami with a party by making festive decorations and preparing her favorite foods.

Curious George, which airs on PBS Kids, was designed to inspire children to explore science, math and engineering in a fun, entertaining way.  Season 5 is about exploring social sciences, and this Mother’s Day episode was designed to show children how Marco and his family celebrate El Dia de la Madre and inspire them to explore their own family’s customs and traditions.  Be sure to visit their online site for games and activities, including the latest, Monkey Moves, which encourages children to get out of their seats and moving with George and a new pinata game where children will help George and Marco decorate and then break a pinata open.

On Thursday, May 5th, join in for a Moms Celebrating Moms Twitter Party.  You can find more information here.
