Since our weeks are filled with activities and work, the weekends are reserved for catching up on quality time. The four of us typically have dinner together and hang out at home for some much needed down time.  As our children get older, I hope that we’ll have regular movie and game nights like I did as a child.

Walmart and P&G have brought back family movie night to help families connect.  While I’m not a fan of children propped in front of the television solo, I do think there is value in older children watching family-friendly films with a message together with their parents.

This Saturday night, Truth Be Told will air on Fox at 8/7 C.  The film stars former Full House star Candace Cameron Bure as Colorado’s leading marriage counselor (Annie Morgan) who advises her clients that honesty is the best policy and the key to a successful long-term relationship.  The irony of the story is in the fact that Annie has never been married, and thus doesn’t always follow her own advice.  When she mistakenly receives an invitation for her and her “spouse” to join media mogul Terrance Bishop (played by Ronny Cox) at his New Mexico ranch to discuss her dream job hosting a radio advice program, she conspires with Mark Crane (played by David James Elliott) to pose as a married couple for the weekend.  As the story unfolds, Annie realizes that the truth, regardless of it’s consequences, must be told because it brings out the best in people.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing several movies produced by Walmart and P&G and I appreciate the wholesome entertainment they provide.  The content of the films, commercials, and music are appropriate and family-friendly.  Walmart will have a 2-disc DVD/CD bonus pack available for purchase the day after Truth Be Told airs.
