Several weeks ago, I guest posted on the Totsy blog and shared my tips on Kid’s Room Decor Through the Early Years.  I thought I’d recap some of those tips here.

• Opt for primary paint colors.  Children quickly outgrow pastels and you’ll gain longevity with vibrant shades of red, green, blue, and yellow.
• Change it up with removable wall decals, wallpaper, and wall art.  The entire vibe of a room can be transformed without spending a lot of time, money or effort.
• Consider convertible bedding for use with a crib and a toddler bed.
• Keep it simple and versatile. Consider how much use you’ll get out of decor accessories before purchasing such items.  Invest in books and age-appropriate learning toys to fill the space.
• Keep safety in mind. Ensure that all decor items are age-appropriate and free from choking or entanglement hazards.

A child will spend a great deal of time growing up in his/her room. Creating meaningful memories of this time can be accomplished easily and prudently with a little creativity.
