There was a time when I shopped at 3-5 grocery stores a week, in search of the best deals across them all. I'd gather all of the weekly circulars and make a plan to shop for the best deals with the coupons I had printed at each one. In today's economy, it's prudent to make use of... Read More »

Two weekends ago, my husband and I had one glorious weekend to ourselves, sans children. We take our children everywhere, and the number of evenings our children have been away from us can be counted on two hands...maybe. We don't use babysitters or nannies (although I am not opposed to either) and my son didn't go to preschool until after his second birthday. T... Read More »

Over the weekend, my son attended a Seussian storytime in celebration of the late author's birthday. It was unseasonably cold in LA and an indoor activity was just what he needed. As he sat amongst all of the boys and girls eager to hear Dr. Seuss' rhyming stories, we noticed several children with race cars. They had just come from one of Lowe's Build and Grow C... Read More »

On those rare occasions when the kids are napping in the car or they're with my husband, I relish the opportunity to listen to "grown-up" music. I'm very open to a wide variety of music genre and recently had an opportunity to check out the Soundtrack to Pretty Little Liars.

We're in the midst of winter and I'm doing everything I can to keep our family healthy. We're washing our hands and using antibacterial hand gels, eating healthy and taking our vitamins, striving to get enough exercise and enough sleep, and diligently taking probiotics. We've also started using a humidifier in our bedroom after reading about the benefits.
As you ... Read More »

My husband and I heavily rely on our mobile phones to keep up with each other, our friends and family, our schedules, and our careers. I know several families who find it helpful to have a family cellular plan to keep up with their older children involved in school and extra-curricular activities. If ... Read More »

To this day, my mother is my best friend. She supports, encourages and inspires me to be the wife, mother, and woman I am today. This weekend, we spent the day together enjoying afternoon tea and a show at the Geffen Playhouse. As a UCLA alumni, I was excited about frequenting the venue for the very first time. The Playhouse, which as been awarded more than 40 r... Read More »

Spring is on the horizon and for many, this is the time to take inventory of your home to decide what needs to be addressed. It's the middle of winter and my skin is dry, cracked and irritated. It doesn't help that I work part-time as an RN and my hands are subjected to frequent hand-washing and drying antibacterial hand gels. My skin is highly sensitive so I'm always hesitant to try a new skin care product. However, after reading about Eucerin, I agreed to try out a few skin care produ... Read More »

Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka as Dr. Seuss, has been iconic in transforming children's literature. The fact that only 50 words exist in Green Eggs and Ham demonstrates his brilliance. We introduced my three year old son to the books last year and he finds them silly and enjoyable. I know that beyond the fact that they're entertaining, his books are helping my son lear... It's almost March and our resolve to cook *most* of our meals (as opposed to going out) has been mostly successful. However, I am personally beginning to lose motivation, since I'm rotating through the same meals each week. My husband has always been the more creative cook, conjuring up everything from Thai Chicken and Rice to a three course French Fondue meal.

I'm sitting here at home, a bit rundown from a busy weekend, hoping this tickle in the back of my throat is an allergy and not something worse. Despite the fact that I actively strive to keep our family well, it's winter and illness is widespread. I have two small children, the oldest of which is in preschool and constantly exposed to germs.
