What do you think?
NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto Coffee and Tea Drinks Published on Friday, December 3, 2010 by

Yesterday, I told you about NESCAFÉ’s new modern single-serve coffee machines.  But they’re more than just a kitchen design accent.  They actually make a really yummy cup of coffee!

I’ve always been partial to freshly ground (as in from the bean), freshly brewed coffee.  If I don’t have time to make a cup, I’ll spend the $3-$4 it costs at our local coffee shop.  But I think about the monthly cost of this little “habit” and know that if I could find the right machine and the right coffee, I could save a lot of money.  Enter NESCAFÉ’s capsule flavors which were designed to complement the new single-serve coffee machines. From lattes and mochas to tea and iced drinks, you’re certain to find a drink that’s right for you.

It takes just a few minutes, for your NESCAFÉ machine to brew your drink with all the flavor and froth of an espresso machine.  (NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto has a professional-level 15-bar pressure system which is similar to that used by coffeehouse machines to achieve that foamy froth and rich creamy flavor).  Simply fill the chamber with water (tap water is perfect), turn on the machine, load your preferred capsule, then select either a hot or cold drink.  One important thing to note is that many of the flavors require a milk (white) and a coffee capsule (brown).  Since I always try to use a new appliance without reading the directions, I learned this after I had made at least 2 cups of coffee. One other important thing to remember is that the machine uses a unique patented Custom Control Lever so that you can customize your coffee’s strength and mixture (ratio of coffee to milk).  You can also alternate easily between hot and cold drinks.

What’s nice about a single-serving machine is that multiple people using the same machine can choose the flavor they prefer (rather than brewing one pot of coffee with a single flavor).  The capsules are tossed after use (they’re single use) and there is literally nothing to clean up.  I will say that my only concern would be the number of plastic capsules being tossed into the trash.

A box of 8 NESCAFÉ flavor capsules retails for $8.49 which makes each cup a little over $1 (which is much more affordable than a $3-$4 cup of coffee at a coffee house).  For more information, just visit their website.

I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto and received a coffee machine to facilitate my review.
