Gaggle of Chicks Published on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 by

In today’s economy, most of us are not willing to pay full price for an item when deal and discount websites abound.  I actually subscribe to quite a few sites because each has something different to offer. Whether it’s an hour-long massage at a local spa or a toy my son has at the top of his wish list, discount sites offer unique, time-limited deals on popular products and services across the country.

I was recently introduced to Gaggle of Chicks, a website offering daily deals on the best products and services for moms and their families.  The site, which primarily focuses on New York City products and services, recently launched a nationwide edition.  Past deals include a playhouse from Box Creations for $15 (regularly priced at $39.99), fifty percent off Tali Gillette Jewelry, and fifty percent off wall art from Vinyl Attraction.

Gaggle of Chicks works a little differently than most deal websites in that they use a social approach to buying.  Enough moms have to sign up for a deal in order for it to become part of the “Gaggle.”  Once that happens, it “hatches” for everyone to receive that discount. (which can be up to 70% off).  After 48 hours, the deal expires so timeliness is of the essence.

The products and services you’ll find on Gaggle of Chicks are approved by a network of moms and include everything from baked goods and beauty products to children’s classes and mommy boot camps.  I am excited about the possibility of launching a Southern California based edition because I’m very interested in local services like restaurants and spas.

Visitors who make a purchase will receive a referral code to send to friends that will earn them $10 every time someone makes their first Gaggle purchase.  And those you invite will also receive a $10 credit so it’s a win-win for both of you!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Gaggle of Chicks and received a $50 gift code for the website to facilitate this review.
