On the Red Carpet of The Nutcracker 3D Premiere Published on Thursday, November 11, 2010 by

Last night Andrea, Angie, April, Janice, Tracy and I graced the red carpet for the World Premiere of Nutcracker 3D.  The premiere was held at The Grove, complete with candy cane tickets, a snow-filled red carpet, and a Christmas tree.  The chilly night in LA was the perfect setting for this family-friendly holiday film, out on November 24th.

I’m currently under embargo for my complete review until the film’s release, but I wanted to fill you in on the highlights of the evening’s premiere.  Just like you see on television, cameras (big cameras!) lined the red carpet waiting for Andrei Konchalovsky (who wrote and directed the film), Elle Fanning (Dakota Fanning’s younger sister) and the stars of the film to make their appearance on the snow-lined red carpet.  Mr. Konchalovsky and his wife Ulia Visotskaya (who plays The Snow Fairy) took a few minutes to chat with us about the film including his inspiration for the film.  Aaron Michael Drozin (who plays Max, the brother) and Elle Fanning also spoke about their roles in the film and their experiences during production.  Each of them were lovely and I appreciated the time they spent talking to us.  Here is a little video from last night’s premiere.

Here are some photos from last night, courtesy of Janice:

The Nutcracker 3D will be in theaters on November 24th and stars Elle Fanning, John Turturro, and Nathan Lane.  Acclaimed Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky brings the classic story of the Nutcracker to 3D film and stated that this movie was made for 3D.  His hope is that we will all feel a bit of magic while watching the film and that it will survive generations.  Stay tuned for my complete review of the film.

More check-ins at The Grove

No compensation was received for this post.  I attended the world premiere of the film which helped facilitate this review.
