Once upon a single life without kids, I would often have people tell me that I looked like Norah Jones.  To be honest, I don’t really see it (she’s much prettier than I am), but I humbly accepted those compliments.  The very first time I heard this, I didn’t know who Norah Jones was. So I did some research and started listening to one of her albums.  I was hooked.  The singer-songwriter is amazingly talented (she plays the piano and the guitar) and has won 9 Grammy Awards.

Norah Jones’ latest release, …Featuring Norah Jones, is a compilation of recordings made in collaboration with well-known musicians like Ray Charles, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson.  While there are definitely some upbeat songs, most of the album is in her typical “bluesy” style.  I actually think many of her duets work well, including my favorite, Baby It’s Cold Outside with Willie Nelson and Ruler of My Heart with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
