Last year, we took our son to Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch for the first time.  Having been to local pumpkin patches, I had no idea that this is, in fact, one of the biggest (and the best) pumpkin patches in Orange County.  I recently told you all about the Pumpkin Patch but here is a quick recap:

The Pumpkin Patch runs through October 31st, seven days a week (as long as the weather permits).  You can visit on weekdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and weekends from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Entrance to the Pumpkin Patch is free, however some of the activities require tickets which are $4.00 each. You can save $15 if you buy a book of 15 tickets (which I recommend).

Activities include picking your own pumpkin, train rides, hay rides, John Deere Tractor Racers, carnival games, panning for gold, a haunted house and so much more!

If you plan to check out the Pumpkin Patch, be sure to allot enough time to visit the Orange County Zoo (with over 100 animals), take bike ride around the park, and/or a paddle boat on the lake.

It should be noted that Irvine Park charges a small parking fee ($3.00 on weekdays, $5.00 on weekends, and $7.00 on holidays). This Saturday (October 16th), there may be some parking delays due to the Orange County Cross Country Invitational.  The park suggests that you arrive after 1:00 pm when the meet will be over if plan to visit the Pumpkin Patch or Wheel Fun Rentals.
