A little over a week ago, I went on a little mission.  Being that it’s flu season, I offered to give 3 families Walgreens gift cards for flu vaccines, courtesy of Walgreens and The Motherhood.  All three families have young children, a population at risk for getting the flu. The families were extremely appreciative and it felt good to give them something so important.

Flu shots are relatively inexpensive and readily available.  They’re safe, mostly painless, and effective at preventing flu epidemics.  As a mom, it’s important for me to get a flu shot so that I’m healthy for my children.  As a nurse, it’s important for me to get a flu shot to keep the babies I’m taking care of safe.
