The Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Regional Park Published on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 by

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year in Southern California because the weather (typically) cools down and the festivities begin as we count down to Christmas. Irvine Regional Park opened their 5th annual Pumpkin Patch over the weekend and you don’t want to miss it.  Last year was our first visit and my son had so much fun we had to do it again this year.

Through October 31, you can visit the Pumpkin Patch (which is free, by the way) at Irvine Regional Park.  Activities (some with a nominal fee $4-8) include train rides, hay rides, a haunted house, a hay maze, pony rides, a moon bounce, carnival games, John Deere tractor racers, picture stands, panning for gold (new this year) and weekend face painting.  The Orange County Zoo is a short walk from the Pumpkin Patch and an interesting place to visit, since many of the animals have been rescued.

The Pumpkin Patch is open weekdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and weekends until 6:00 pm.  The park charges a nominal entrance fee per vehicle.  Be sure to print off their discount coupons before visiting the park.

No compensation was received for this post.

We’re going to go to a pumpkin patch this weekend, I just have to decide which one. We have so many!

How wonderful that you got to go back this year. I remember the photos of Josh from the pumpkin patch last year. He has grown up so much.
That is one thing I really miss about New England, we used to visit a great orchard that had delicious apples and pumpkins every fall. We don’t have anything like that here in Florida, but I wouldn’t give up my orange groves for anything.

Lorie, it’s surprising how much he’s grown and developed in just a year. I don’t think I’ve ever been to an orange grove but I visited an apple orchard in Baltimore last month! : )
