This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Cristina. Congrats!
Most days, I really don't have the time to spend applying makeup. If I'm lucky, I'll brush a bronzer all over my face, add some lip gloss and a bit of eyeshadow. As a woman, it's important to me that I still make attempts to present myself well. As a mom, I need tips and ... Read More »

I recently told you about Fresh & Easy's healthy, affordable food choices for Summer barbecues. Last week, the market hosted a wine and appetizer tasting event at the SmogShoppe in Los Angeles. Wine expert Richard Wherry (who speaks better Spanish than I do) gave us tips on selecting and serving wines.

“You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?'"
George Barnard Shaw
To say we're blessed, is an understatement. We have a home, clothing, food on the table every meal, and freedom. And those are just the basics. We also have a lot of "extras" that most people won't ever have.
Last week, you may reme... Read More »

It's not often that a luxury resort opens it's doors to the public...but that is exactly what the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa is doing this summer! This past Friday, we attended their Sunset Splash Party for the second time this summer. The oldies radio station, K-EARTH 101 has partnered with the resort to invite local and visiting families to da... Read More »

On Friday, Kenilworth Films released Standing Ovation, a family film musical with comedy and heart. My husband and I don't get out to the movies that often anymore, unless it's a KidFlick, but this actually sounds like something we'd all enjoy. Here is a brief synopsis:
Standing Ovation delivers an optimistic tale of perseverance and passion that inspires the ... Read More »

If you have children, than you know that the sheer abundance of messes created by them is endless. Sometimes I scratch my head in bewilderment, perplexed at how my son can get berries on my daughter's swing during breakfast or rub diaper cream all over his legs in the short amount of time it takes me to get his clothes ready for school. Over 90% of the cleaning prod... Read More »

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Nan Lara. Congrats!
I can count the number of times I've been to the grocery store with both children on one hand. I know it sounds a bit wimpy, but I try to avoid grocery shopping with both kids. It's honestly not enjoyable for any of us. Inevitably, the baby wants to nurse or get out of the ... Read More »

As a mom to two little ones, I've been through my share of baby products. Safety and durability top the list. But style and softness are also important.
Both of my children sleep with lovies and stuffed animals. While my children spend the first part of their life sleep... Read More »

As you can imagine, we play a lot around here. My son particularly enjoys pretend play and can often be found "talking" to his toys. Shopping for toys is difficult. There are so many choices, and typically, I let my son have a say (as long as it's age-appropriate, safe, and affordable).
Playmobil, a toy company with German origins, recently introduced it's ne... Read More »

Every night our routine is the same. After dinner, my son takes a bath, brushes his teeth, and we read him a book. In the event that we get home late or our schedule is a bit off, my son immediately lets us know. He depends on that routine.

Several months ago, I had an opportunity to test drive a Chevrolet Camaro. It was one of those surreal moments in my life. I kept thinking to myself...am I really driving a Camaro? I was nervous...excited...confident.
Last week, a representative I've worked with on several occasions offered me the opportunity to test drive a Camaro for a week (ish). To be h... Read More »

In California, it is illegal to drive and talk on a mobile phone without a hands-free headset (just ask my husband). But more than that, distracted drivers are unsafe. I'm actually good about not talking and driving. When I do talk, I use the speakerphone so I'm still hands-free. The idea situation would be to use a hands-free headset.
Last month, Motorola ... Read More »

Over the weekend, our June gloom lifted a bit and I was reminded that summer really is in full swing. One of the things I enjoy about summer is getting together with friends. My husband and I are foodies, so our get togethers usually include a diverse array of eats and treats.

Every night, before my son goes to sleep, we brush teeth, read stories, tuck him in with his bear and his favorite blanket, and kiss him good night. He thrives on that routine, and when it's disrupted, we hear about it.
While some may disagree, I absolutely believe in giving children "security" blankets and toys. My children co-sleep during their early years, a... Read More »

I learned how to shop from my mom. As a former New Yorker, she'd buy a new outfit every week during her time as a single woman. Shopping was (and still is) our "thing." I grew up in LA, where there was no shortage of malls. But on those weekends when we would make the trek down the OC, I had to visit South Coast Plaza.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the privile... Read More »

When it comes to germs, I tend to be a bit neurotic. I carry hand sanitizer with me in my purse and we're always washing our hands if we're near running water. I attribute the fact that we rarely get sick to my paranoia cleanliness.
As a nurse, and an eco-minded mom, I strive to find a balance between being healthy and germ-free. While I avoid toxic cleaners ... Read More »
