I've never been particularly forthright about the fact that I'm an attachment parent. But I am. And as radical as that may sound, it's really not much different than traditional parenting. Yes, we co-sleep and nurse and discipline with love. But I guarantee that my children will not always sleep with us (my son is the perfect example of a former co-sleeper), n... Read More »

It's very, very rare that I enter general contests (but blog giveaways, absolutely!). With that being said, I've entered my son into Ronzoni's Smart Taste Photo Contest. Very soon, consumers (and you!) will be able to vote on your favorite photo. Pasta is one of my son's favorite foods so I thought this would be a fun little project for us.
Since we were only... Read More »

Between my husband's business travels, our annual trips to see family, and planned vacations, we stay in a lot of hotels. My husband frequently gets put up in the Marriott and on occasion, we've stayed at their Residence Inn properties (most recently, their San Diego property).
If you have summer travel plans with your family, I recommend looking into Residence I... Read More »

As a nurse, I'm rarely offended by "body talk." Everyone poops, belches, and passes gas...and now children can get hands on with the "impolite" science of the human body at Discovery Science Center's latest exhibit appropriately titled, Grossology. Based on the best-selling book by the same name, Grossology uses "sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits... Read More »

It's been a busy, busy week! If you follow me on Whrrl or Twitter, then you know I was in Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Diego all within the span of one week. Whew! I love to stay busy and I still have lots of fun things planned both here on the site and IRL.

Last week, I picked my son up from preschool and his teacher asked me when we visited New York City. I just looked at her puzzled. Apparently my son was talking about riding in a taxi in New York City. And then it dawned on me...he was talking about the book we've been reading.
Earlier this year, Look Out World, Here I Come launched it's first product, the Ne... Read More »

My husband and I have always had a lot in common. How ironic is it that we both owned Toyota 4 Runners, attended the same church (at different times in our lives), dreamed of living in another country, and enjoy musical theater? My husband and I are also very different. He grew up in the rural Southeast and I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. He prefers m... Read More »

After a brief visit with our Pediatrician, we finally decided to feed our little girl for the first time tonight. It wasn't until after we were done that I decided I probably should have video taped it. Or at least photographed it. Tomorrow will be a "do over."
I absolutely adore that time in a baby's life when they're just learning to eat. Every meal is sett... Read More »

Did you know that Tuesday, June 8 is World Oceans Day? That's ok...neither did I. The day was initiated to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation. Over the weekend, we celebrated the day in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss' classic One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish book by visiting the Sea Life Aquarium in Carlsbad.

If you know me IRL, you know that I'm not home a lot during the day. I try to spend most of my days out and about with the kids, when my son is not in preschool. Whether it's simple days at the park, or afternoons at Disneyland, I strive to offer my kids unique and diverse experiences.
Last year, I took my son to see Elmo's Green Thumb at Nokia Theatre L.A. Liv... Read More »

My son is barely three and hasn't had much exposure to the world of video games. Being that I grew up with video games and still utilize a gaming system for the occasional workout, I'm not opposed to allowing my children limited, supervised gaming time.
About a week ago, we were invited to preview several new games put out by Disney Interative Studios. My son ... Read More »
