YummyEarth Organic Candy *Giveaway* Published on Sunday, April 4, 2010 by

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by.  The winner is Melissa (#56). Congrats!

My husband and I have a bit of a sweet tooth…and it’s apparently rubbed off on our son! I find it interesting that he even knows about candy, since he’s had it very few times in his life.  As a family, we’re committed to providing our children with the healthiest foods available.  We avoid high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, artifical everything, and hydrogenated oils.  We know that when he goes to school, he’ll be exposed to unnatural foods.  We hope that he’ll make a wise choice because of how we have modeled and taught him to eat.

There are many foods that I don’t think are necessary, but are highly enjoyable.  Candy is one of those “foods.”  A few weeks ago, I attended Expo West and met one of the representatives from Yummy Earth.  The company was founded by two dads (I LOVE mom and dad-owned companies), who’s desire was to give their children treats without artificial colors and flavors and high fructose corn syrup.  Yummy Earth offers the first USDA Organic Gummy Bear and is the number 1 organic candy company in the US.

The very first thing I did was turn over the bag and look at the ingredients.  None of their products contain corn syrup, casein, artificial dyes, genetically modified organisms, nuts, soy, wheat, or dairy.  What you will find are ingredients like tapioca syrup, rice syrup, natural flavors, and evaporated cane juice.  I appreciate the fact that I understand each ingredient.

So how do they taste?  We tried their Gummy Bears, Gummy Worms, Vitamin C pops, and Fruit Lollipops.  They taste as good as any gummy bear or lollipop I’ve had.  I actually like the sour apple tart and wet face watermelon flavors the best.  The texture of their gummy candies is no different than conventional brands.

Yummy Earth candies are competitively priced and can be found at Toys R Us, Henry’s Markets, and online at Amazon.

Win It! One of you will win a family pack of YummyEarth Organic Gummy Bears.  Simply visit their website, then come back and leave me a comment with the name of a product and flavor you’d like to try.  Comments will close on April 19 at 11:59 PM PST.  One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. I would really like to try the twist wrapped drops pouches, but I can’t decide which one- either the the pomegranit pucker or the ginger zest.
