Once again, I've teamed up with Aller-Ease and The Motherhood for a special seasonal cleaning series. Spring is the season when my allergies kick up a notch (more so than any other time of the year). Those pretty flowers that you see blooming in your backyard only do so because of pollen. Unfortunately, I've been sneezing like crazy! Do you ever feel like you... Read More »

I could eat salad every day and never tire of it, granted it includes fruits, nuts, and fancy cheeses. With two small children and a tightly packed schedule, I don't have time to pull a head of lettuce apart to make a salad. And the fact is, I've always preferred bagged salad over a head of lettuce. It makes it so much easier to toss in all of my "extras" in jus... Read More »

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is pixie13. Congrats!
My husband would tell you that if there was one thing he could change about his wife, it would be her lack of organization. Despite my lists, I still struggle to stay organized and I'm always open to new technology aimed towards making my life a bit easier.
Over the years, I've... Read More »

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Christine S. Congrats! When my son was a wee thing, I pulled out the board books I had bought and been given during my pregnancy and started reading to him. There were many days I felt like what I was doing was pointless. However, to this day...my son would prefer to read over watching... Read More »

My son is still too young to understand concepts like global warming. So most of the eco-education I do is based on modeling and hands-on learning. I want him to view things like recycling as a normal part of everyday life. I want him to grow up with a reverence for our environment and it's precious resources.
We've planted flowers in the past, but he was too... Read More »

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is Cheryl M. Congrats! It was a blustery Saturday in Edinburgh and we were prepping to move out of our flat. I took on the bathrooms, my husband the kitchen. We didn't know about toxic cleaners at the time. Thankfully, hormones and intuition took over. The smell was nauseating... Read More »

The weather is warming up, the days are getting a bit longer, and Spring is in full swing! Last year we "flipped for fall." Now it's time to Spring Into Action with Aller-Ease and The Motherhood! Stay tuned! This weekend I'll be posting a video that will tell ... Read More »

You scoot to snuggle with me at night...despite the fact that I put you on your back to sleep between daddy and I.
You turn over on to your belly to sleep (just like your brother...and your mommy like to sleep).
You can be asleep peacefully next to me one minute and bright-eyed the next, the moment I wake up.
You squeal every morning for about 15 minutes in s... Read More »

My husband and I tend to be foodies, only in that we like really good food. My husband does a majority of the cooking and both of us are always looking for new, interesting recipes with a bit of flare. Most nights, after the kidlets are in bed (and American Idol or Ugly Betty are not on), we watch a variety of shows on the Food Network. Everything from Iron Chef... Read More »

"Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."

My husband and I live in a community that encourages and makes it relatively easy to recycle. We have a "recycle" bin that gets taken out every week along with the trash bins. All I really need to do is sort the trash into that which is and isn't recyclable (paper, plastic, cardboard). I have to s... Read More »

"It's so expensive to buy everything organic"
"It's too confusing to read the labels on cleaning and skin care products"
"I don't have time"
"Natural, organic, sustainable...what's the difference?"
"I don't even know where to begin"
"I recycle, isn't that ... Read More »

Springtime always reminds me of wedding season. My husband and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary last week (What? No pictures Caryn?). We have beautiful memories of that gorgeous Spring day in the hills of Malibu, exchanging vows as the sun set.
Speaking of weddings (and wine), Lenox recently debuted a new line of stemware called Napa Valley. The line i... Read More »

Last year, around this time, I was pregnant...and sick, sick, sick! I had aspired to take my husband to Disney's California Adventure Park to experience their Food & Wine Festival, but never actually made it. This year, I am definitely planning on leaving the kidlets with my parents for a couple's day out!
This is the fifth annual Food & Wine Festival... Read More »

Earth Day is rapidly approaching, and I have a series of themed posts to increase awareness about eco-minded topics. Lands' End, a company I've been working with for almost two years, recently announced their Way to Grow: Plant a Seed, Make a Difference initiative. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. This initiative connects kids, parents, and s... Read More »

Shopping for my daughter is so. much. fun! There is no shortage of wearable cuteness for girls (what's up with the lack of adorable wear for boys?). I have always been a girly girl, and if my daughter follows suit, she'll be in bows, dresses, and Mary Janes!
My daughter is def... Read More »

It's days like Monday that remind me it's still rainy season! We don't get a ton of rain in Southern California, but when we do, it's like we don't know what to do with ourselves. For many states, going out in the rain is normal. They just don their rain gear and do what they need to do!
For our rainy days, we've outfitted my son in some very cool Batman... Read More »

Last week my incredible husband took care of BOTH kids while I stole away for a few hours of pampering and relaxation. Pamper Me Fabulous was...well...FABULOUS! I only heard of the event last minute and my number one suggestion for next year is to buy VIP tickets early because they sell out.
Pamper Me Fabulous has now become a yearly health & wellness event... Read More »

Remember when I told you about Chuggington's debut in the US? Well, many mornings at 10:30 am on Playhouse Disney, you'll find us chugging along to the theme song. My son absolutely adores this show (he's got a "thing" for trains!). And we've just been invited to be part of a very special program called the Chuggington Conductors. Stay tuned for all of the tra... Read More »
