Get Organized With Springpad *Giveaway* Published on Saturday, April 10, 2010 by

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by.  The winner is pixie13. Congrats!

My husband would tell you that if there was one thing he could change about his wife, it would be her lack of organization.  Despite my lists, I still struggle to stay organized and I’m always open to new technology aimed towards making my life a bit easier.

Over the years, I’ve managed to move most of my lists and calendars over to the computer.  Having them on the computer is much easier than keeping track of paper.  However, I have multiple “places” that I put information.  It would be nice to have it all in one place…like I can on Springpad.

Last year I was introduced to Springpad, a free, online organizational tool that allows you to keep track of recipes, shopping lists, events, and more.  They’ve recently added several new features including an iPhone application, a new clipper, and new layouts in “My Stuff” (these are just a few of the many updaes and improvements the company has made).

This is my first real experience with the program and I found it very easy to use, considering I’m not particularly tech-savvy.  I particularly like the ability to keep track of multiple different kinds of information in one location.  With Springpad, you can remember notes, ideas, recipes, restaurants, products, books, movies, and more.  I’m particularly interested in their meal planning, events, and lists features.

If I had an iPhone, I’d be able to access Springpad from my phone and link it with my online profile and then save things while out and about.  However, I have a Palm Pre Plus (hint hint!) so I can’t yet do that.  The most innovative aspect of this application is the ability to scan product barcodes that you come across so you can remember them in the future.  The app also lets you serach nearby restaurants and businesses and take photos of things you want to remember.

Once you’ve inputted your lists, you can set up reminders (particularly helpful for events) that can be sent to your phone via text message or email address.

If you get started, be sure to follow me here.

This Spring, let Springpad help you get organized.  Did I tell you it’s free? Here is a short video on Springpad.

Win It! One of you will win a $25 Amazon Gift Card.  Simply create your own (free!) Springpad account.  Then spring, or save, something on your wish list–it can be anything from a book to a pair of shoes you’ve had your eye on.  Each item you spring works as a raffle ticket, so the more things you spring the more chances you have to win!  Then enter your Springpad username (like so: http://springpadit.com/YOURUSERNAME) in the comments section so we can track what you’ve saved.  The winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift card to go towards that item.  Comments will close on April 16, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST.  One comment per person, please (unless you do the extra credit). US residents only. Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. If you don’t want to leave your email address, please be sure to check back for my announcement on the winner.
