Flexi 8 Barrettes *Giveway* Published on Friday, March 19, 2010 by

Most days I do good to get in a shower before my son wakes up.  Anything above and beyond that (i.e. hair, makeup, shaved legs) is just icing.  I remember when I had the luxury of spending a good hour blowing and flat ironing my hair straight.  Those days are few and far between now that I’m a busy mom of two.  Because I have very thick, curly hair, it’s difficult to do much with it  I usually end up putting it up for the days when I’m with the kids.

I’m not big on wearing hair accessories like barettes, simply because my hair is so thick.  When I straighten it, most accessories won’t stay in my hair. Most.  But I found something that works well with my hair.  Flexi8 is “a flexible barrette that holds thick, thin, curly, straight, fine and coarse hair.”  It features a patented locking mechanism to secure the barrette in your hair.

To be honest, I was a bit doubtful.  But surprisingly, with a bit of practice, I was able to create a couple of the looks from the site with their instruction.  I’m a clip girl, but clips often dig into my scalp and are uncomfortable by the end of the day.  Not only are Flexi8 barrettes comfortable to wear, they look adorable.  Check out some of the styles from the site:

Flexi8 barrettes come in a variety of sizes and the site has a great video and info section which will guide you to the correct size.  Many women overestimate the size they require, so be sure to watch the video before selecting your barrettes.  Barrettes are approximately $15 so you could even obtain a few in different sizes if you wanted to experiment with different styles.  The barrettes are durable and come in a variety of fashionable styles.

    Love this, I have very thick long straight hair even thinned it is still to thick to keep any type of hair things in. I would love this. It seems like I can never wear it up because within 5 minutes my hair has fallen down. Thanks so much for a chance to win this.

    Caryn, I used to have some flexi-8′s I love them so much! (they were destroyed when we had a house fire and I have never replaced them…I think I bought them at the LLL conference one year) They are great, and it is hard to choose which I like, but the dragonfly is really nice looking.

    I have thick hair too and am always on the lookout for attractive pieces that will actually hold my hair. I think these clips are gorgeous and one of my favorites is the large Mighty celtic knot with antiqued accents.
